I have an announcement ... I'm happy to tell you I joined the Blank Page Muse (BPM for short) creative design team.  Also included with BPM is their sister site I Brake for Stamps (IBFS for short).

I created a couple of z-fold cards using this artistic style art doll.

Card #1 classic black & white card

Card #2 heat embossed resist card

basic instructions for heat emboss resist card:

1.  stamp and heat emboss image with clear ink and powder.

2. ink blend colors over the embossed images.

3.  buff off images with soft color to make the image pop.

4.  layer card panel onto card.

Both of these cards are Z-fold cards.  Z- fold cards are easy to create with just a couple of scores, then fold.  

Here is a template for a Z-fold card

This template shows the size of the card along with the scoring measurements.  Also shows how to fold the card...first fold is a mountain, and the second is valley fold.

Fold Flat z-fold card

 Fold Flat z-fold card

Z-fold cards are all the rage right now.  I've been making them off and on for years.

Measurements:

base card: 11" x 4 1/4"  scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4"

kraft top layer: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

DSP layer: 5 1/4" x 4"

Stamped image stamped on die cut circle, and layered onto scallop circle.

Inside layers same measurements as top layers

Instructions:

1.  Accordion fold the base card.  valley then mountain fold.

2. Adhere the kraft and DSP layers together.  

3.  Add double stick tape to back of half of the kraft and DSP layers and adhere to front of the base card.

4.  Adhere inside layers.

That's it! you have made a z-fold card.  See a vertical z-fold here, another style z-fold card.  To see even more just type z-fold in search bar.

This another of a throw-back card.  The first one I made is here in 2009, or at least the one I found on my blog.  Remember you can type z-fold in the search box in the side bar to find, and see lots more from years past.

3D emboss folder used:  Altenew Decorative Florals

Keep in mind a z-fold card can be any size card.

Measurements:

base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2"  score at 2 1/4" and 4 1/4"

top layers:

3 x 4 1/8" (postage stamp die)

3 3/4" x 2 5/8"

inside layers:

4" x 5 1/4"

3 x 4 1/8" (postage stamp die)

For my card today I had fun using a postage stamp die ... just to change it up a bit.

Z-fold cards

stamps used: Stampin' Up

Z-fold cards are one of the first fun fold cards I learned way back in the day.  Basically you cut a 4 1/4" x 11" card, fold it in half, then in half again back on itself.  Boom!  that is it.  Now it is just adding stamped layers to finish the card.  I had some 3D embossed folder pieces done so I layered them onto the front of the card.  Next stamped tree scenes and layered on the front of the card.  Only thing you need to remember for this card is when layering stamped piece to front of card ..... only tape half of card and adhere to front section of card before the score line.  Here is one I did a few years ago.

Zetti is white card with embossing folder background and cut out snow drifts.  

Train is what I call a faux layer card.  You can see some faux layer cards I made back in 2014 here in this post.  Here is a post that goes back even more ... guess I like doing this technique.

Here with this deer image I did a gate fold card.  Check out this gate fold card here , here what was called a peek-a-boo gate fold card.

Cup card has pattern paper for background drop and the cups are fussy cut and mounted on card.

Caroling snowmen and sleigh are triple time stamping cards.  Triple time and double time stamping cards are a favorite of mine, you can see more triple time stamping here.  How about checking out this post with Twisted triple time stamping.   In this post you will see double time stamping.

 stamps used:  mr.&mrs.Santa cuddlebug Unity stamp co.

Mr. & Mrs. Santa are adorable cuddlebug stamps which if you know me I like and have a bunch of them.  This style card is a double z-fold card.  In this post you can see z-fold card and more fun folds!  

As you can see I like to do lots of designs when I have to make over 30 cards.  Guess that is enough for today.

Just a couple Anniversary cards showing techniques

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. and MFP stamp co.

Hard to see the actual double z-fold card that I did using snowman couple because at the time my camera wasn't working.   So I had to scan and it squashed the card. 

here is a look at a undecorated/stamped sample of a double z-fold card.  this should give you a better idea of what it looks like.  You can see another z-fold card here that I did with a tutorial.

The second card I did the masking tape background.  You can see the background better on this big tag with the blue stripes.
