Another accordion fun fold card

 Another accordion fun fold card

There are lots of variations on an accordion fold, and this one is simple but very effective.

stamps/papers/dies used:  Unity stamp co.

I also am using Unity coffee-doodle-doo stamp set again.  I do like this frazzled looking coffee bird, but for me she will always be a tea-totaler to me.

You can see more accordion fun folds here, and here.  To see even more just type accordion fold in search box, and more of my posts will pop up.

I colored her by getting out my blending brushes, and just brushing on some color.  Not even staying in the lines, so to speak.  After that I added more color with my prisma color pencils.
measurements:
base card:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
layer on base card:  4" x 5 1/4" pattern paper
accordion fold card:  3 1/4" x 11"  scored at 4" and 8"
layer for front of accordion fold card:  3 1/4" x 4 1/8"
stamped layer:  die cut
layer for inside accordion fold card:
pattern paper - 3 3/4" x 3"
To assemble the card:
Adhere the bigger section of the accordion fold to base card.  Fold the accordion card flat, and adhere 3 1/4" x 4 1/8" card on the shortest fold.  Next adhere the pattern paper, and stamped card.  Add some self-sticking gems to finish it.  Just keep in mind you can make the accordion fold card a little bigger, or smaller to change up the card.

Tulip accordion fold card

accordion pop up

stamps used:  SU Hey chic

I made this card for swapping in my local card group.  The theme was same stamp set so we all made cards with SU Hey chic stamp set.  Above is mine it is what I call an Accordion pop up.  Unfortunately my camera isn't working right now so I scanned my card so it is hard to see how it pops.
Here is a look at cards from my swappers:
It is always fun to see where all our minds go to create cards!

Below is a similar card I made back in January of this year.
You can see card using Unity stamps in post here with instructions.  I just changed the orientation for my Hey chic card.

Wizard mini shakers!

Yes, today I am continuing with some more wizard fun!  Today it's mini shaker cards.

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. Something magical stamp set

This is a shaker and a z-fold card all in one ... plus it is mini size!  perfect for these small images.
measurements:
base card - 6" x 4 1/4"
strip - 6" x 3/4"
front layers - 2 3/8" x 3 3/4" and 2 1/8" x 3 5/8"

basic instructions:
For a basic z-fold card you fold the base card in half then in half again.  It will be a mountain fold and valley fold.  For this card the strip is folded the same way and this will be taped to card with the long end to the front panel and the short taped to the inside back.  BUT before taping the strip to card you need to create the shaker part of the card.
Shaker card - die cut or cut out a section.  tape window sheet to back side of card with opening.  add foam tape to the back of the window sheet to form a closed box so when you add the sequins or beads inside it they will not fall out.  Another words the foam mounting tape should all be touching with no spaces.  remove the backing strips of the foam mounting tape and tape the stamped panel directly to the foam mounting tape to secure all the sequins inside the shaker.  That's it for the shaker card section ... you can go to my you-tube channel to see a video how to make a shaker for a visual tutorial.
Hope you enjoyed seeing all my wizard creations over the last week.  Thank you for visiting come back again soon.

GIU day 2 - pop out card

Here we are at day 2 for GIU gal week.
Today I'm showing a card that I'm not sure what to call it so I'm going to name it:
Pop-out accordion fold card
if anyone one has a better name just tell me when you comment because to be included in the drawing for the Unity stamp grab bag you need to comment.
I saw a card similar to mine on Pinterest but again ... no name or measurements so this is how I did it.

folding mechanism:
strip 3 1/4" x 11"  score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2" and 8 1/4"
inside squares:
3" x 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" x 2 1/4"
Here are a couple of photos of sample of the inside of this card:

Diorama cards

stamps used:  Me & Carrie Lou, Repeat Impressions
First I want to say these are old stamps in my collection and I'm not even sure if these two companies are still in business.  In fact, these stamps are so old (1997) that they are wood mounted.
This card is called Diorama cards because, I think you look into/through them like you were looking into a diorama ..... remember we made them out of shoe boxes back in school.  Oh boy, am I showing my age by stating that fact.
measurements:
two at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock
score 1/2" & 1" on both sides
instructions:
punch or die cut center of front card.
accordion fold both cards
add adhesive to one end of each side of one card then tape together.
It's really a very easy card with a wow factor.
enjoy!
come back again soon.  comments are always welcome.

Bridge is up!

Here are a few bridge cards I made, of course we did this type of card years ago but for the life of me I can't remember what they were called.  So now they are Bridge cards.
stamps used:  Unity stamp co. cuddlebug butterfly
SU swirly bird and so many shells
I think my brain is starting to work ..... we used to just called this type of card a double z-fold card with a strip on the front.  So I guess, I like ... bridge cards ... simpler.  anyway I had fun making them!
here are my measurements:
base - 8" x 4 1/4"
score card 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" at both ends
strip - 1" x 5 1/2"
To assemble:
1.  accordion fold mountain, valley, valley and mountain
2.  adhere any pattern paper, stamped images to card and you are done.
It's that simple!
hope you like my cards and if you create any please show me.
thanks for stopping by and come back soon.  comments are always welcome.

stand alone cards

stamps used:  MFP (out of business)
Although I used stamps that are not available anymore, you can use any stamps in your stash.
Stand Alone card
measurements:
base card - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"  score at 2" and 3 1/8" at each end.
pattern papers - two of 5 1/4" x 1 3/4", one of 5 1/4" x 2
oval die cuts - use whatever you have to fit.
To fold card:
valley, mountain, mountain, valley
you can look at the photo to see the folds then all there is to do is adhere the pattern papers and the oval dies to the front of the card.  For the back of the card I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4" x 2", stamped a saying and there is plenty of room to sign it.
