Dear friend by brenda - like the way she stamped this then made faux sections with a couple strips of red cardstock.

Postcard Buddies - Nov. 2012

Theme for Postcard Buddies last November was Thanksgiving. 
Pumpkins by sue(me)- got out my Hot Potatoes again(last time around I used Hot Potatoes for all my postcards) with pumpkin and acorn.

Turkeys in cognito by leslie- too too funny!!!
Turkey feathers by susan - clever use of leaf stamp.

Happy Halloween- postcard buddies

Yes, Happy Halloween!  it's been awhile since I posted about my postcard buddies group so here are our postcards from october 2012.
Look to your left to start your journey back to Halloween.
Halloween collage by sue (me)- stamped a large image then stamped solid images over collage image.
Spooky eyes by muriel- fabulous eyes staring back at you!
Happy Halloween scene by leslie- she embossed the house...look at the lights showing through the house and the spooky tree.  stippled colors for background.
Halloween house by susan- simple stamping but effective eeriness (is that a word?)
BEWARE by brenda- it's all stamped on watercolor paper. not sure what medium she used for the background but it sure is spooky.
Black bird with skeleton by debbie- love how she stamped the skeleton image that is embossed in white over the black bird.

Postcard buddies - autumn

I'm back showcasing my Postcard Buddies swap for September 2012 with the theme of Autumn.  I do love that we all start out with the same theme and come up with very different looking postcards.
sue w. (me)- I did a masking technique by drawing two lines, stamped saying inside the two lines, masked the lines then stamped the leaves, colored the leaves by sponging chalks on them.  muriel- stamped pheasant with all the fall acorns and stems on a white card then sponged color.
leslie- did a fun fall back time card. this is what I mean about the same but different.  susan- stamped leaves, acorns and even a pumpkin on different colored cardstock squares.

brenda- stamped stalks in metallic so they have a bit of shimmer, cut out a scallop with more stalks inside it.  debbie- did a leaves and waves (could represent wind) in background, masked out what looks like a photo of a beautiful meadow on a fall day but it's stamped. 
Another great bunch of postcards.  next ones will be Halloween that we did back in October.  will post them soon.

August postcard buddies

Yes, I'm a little behind showing my Postcard buddies monthly postcards but not that far off.  Here I am showing our august postcards with the them of National eye exam month.  what fun we all had with this theme!
For our first showing:
sue (me)- I did a masking technique with eye glasses or shades that have diamond glaze for lens. sent this to myself first to make sure the diamond glaze worked and it did! a couple of smudges but I like the little imperfections in mailing postcards.

muriel - glases with eyes peering out.  too cool!
leslie- all in black and white but you just have to love that image!

susan - disguise glasses!!!! and the cat wearing them!  love it!
brenda - originally designed sunglasses!  fabulous! can just see a movie star behind them.
debbie - she actually shows eye doctor equipment! don't you just feel like you are sitting in the doctor office looking at the eye chart.
Another month gone by for our little group of postcard buddies.  see you next month for the theme of autumn.  enjoy!

Postcard Buddies July

July theme for our postcard buddies group is 4th of July which we interpret anyway we want.
Eagle by sue (me) - I did a technique called embedded image with embossing folder.
Pledge by muriel - love the flag behind the pledge spelled out.

Sparler lady by susan - remember lighting up sparklers in your backyard.

Lady Liberty by brenda - statue of liberty in front of our flag. makes me want to go to NYC.

Postcard Buddies - June

June postcard buddies' theme is Summer!  All our postcards are the same theme but different as night and day.

Summer by sue (me) - I took the colors of a sunrise masked it off and added images of summer.

May Postcard buddies

Well, I'm only a couple of months behind posting my Postcard Buddie swap.  You can check out all of them by clicking on the tab at the top of this blog.  Just an update these postcards are create by me and a few friends that we swap back and forth.  Here I will be showcasing our May postcards which the theme is strawberries

Starting on the left: Sue(me)- an elegant affair says it all...don't you think.
Muriel - baskets of strawberries...reminds me of strawberry picking time.
On the right:  Leslie - strawberry fields forever..enough said.
Susan- big and beautiful strawberry.

Brenda- strawberry milkshake cow! this was participant in the NYC cow parade back in 2000.

April Postcard buddies

 Here is another month of postcard buddies...this one is April with the theme Easter.

New round of Postcard Buddies

Just to recap my little group of local postcard buddies finished up our Alphabet postcards which all turned out great! If you missed any of Alphabet postcards just click on tab labeled Postcard Buddies under header on top of my blog......  and so now we have started a new round with different themes for each month.  Our new round started March 2012 with the theme of Springtime so without further ado here is our month of March postcards:

Flower by sue (me)- carved a flower from a photo I saw online. sorry don't remember the name of the flower but still think it came out well.

HouseMouse in tulips by muriel - aren't HM just adorable and she did a wonderful job of coloring.
Birds by brenda - beautiful flowers background paper and all those punched out birds!
Spring flowers by leslie - metal spring art flowers outside in her yard!  aren't they the coolest works of art.

It's always fun to get "Fun Mail!"

Oooops! forgot "Z"

I was just checking my past posts and realized I never posted Postcard Buddies for Z! better late than never so here they are for you to see.  Z is for Zebra by sue (me) - kept with using Hot Potatoe image. Z is for Zebra by muriel - another zebra but completely different.
Z is for zoo by petti - what an adorable bunch of baby cubs.

Z is for zenzizenzizenzic by leslie - YES it is a word!

Z is for zany zebra by roberta - zany comic on front and on back is zebra print.  This finishes our Postcard Buddies alphabet.  hope you enjoyed them all.

Y Postcard buddies

 Down to the last couple of sets of postcards from my Alphabet Postcard Buddies swap.  Here are all the "Y's"!  This time everyone came up with a different word to work with for "Y".  Yellow jacket by sue (me)- isn't that a great bee from Hot Potatoes Rubber Stamps .  Bet you can't guess what image I will be using for "Z"?   Yarn by muriel - who would have thunk she would have so many yarn images...not me.  Yule by petti - she wants us to stay in the holiday mood all year round.  Yoke by leslie - remember she is doing two for one so on the address side of her postcard is Yolk!!!  too funny!  Yak by roberta - she has kept with her animal theme all through this round of postcards...great! 

X Postcard buddies

 X marks the spots for one of our buddies!  Up today are all the X postcard buddies.  Let's see first up is

A couple more letter to go then done with this round of postcard buddies but have no fear we started a new round....theme:  seasons/holidays.  enjoy!

W is for Postcard buddies

W was a wonderful month of postcards ...... we all did something completely different!  most of the time at least a couple of us do the same theme but not for the "W's"!  Witch by sue (me) - isn't she a great witch and yes she's Hot Potatoes Rubber Stamps .  Wine by muriel - delicious grapes to make the wine.  Wolf by petti - so majestic standing there looking to the distance.  Wave by leslie - terrific waves that she cut out by hand for each postcard.  on the address side someone waving for her two definitions.  Worms by roberta - wiggling all over the place.

V-Day

Bet you thought this was going to be another Valentine day post.....lol! fooled you! it's V-Day for Postcard Buddies!  Veggies by sue (me) - eggplant and little corn on the cobs from Hot Potatoes Rubber Stamps .  Vehicle is by Muriel - all those different stamps of cars including that trailer!  Viceroy is by Petti - beautifully colored butterfly.  Vice is by Leslie - on the address side are vices, you know those things that guys have in their tool room.  Virginia Tiger Moth by Roberta - she is so clever with the images she has and sticking to her theme of animals.  I have five more months to show you over the next few weeks.  enjoy! 

Postcard buddies - U

Back in the world of Postcard Buddies here is the letter "U" for your enjoyment.

First I'd like to mention that one of our players had to drop out because of family problems.  Grace is a fun stamper and her postcards will be missed.  Utensils by sue (me) - the main images are by Hot Potatoes Fabric and Wall Stamps .  Urn by muriel - simply but effective.  USA  by petti - classic.  Utter by leslie - clever and on address side is Udder.  too funny.  Unicorn by roberta - keeping with her animal theme.  she stamped on a glitter paper to add to the mythical unicorn.

T Postcard Buddies

Back with more Postcard Buddies to show you.  We are up to the letter "T" and look at the themes this month.  There are two for tea and three for turtles (toad).....the third turtle or toad as Leslie calls it is on the back of her postcard.

Tea cups by sue (me) - main image is Hot Potatoes Fabric and Wall Stamps and color is turquoise.

Turtles by Muriel - isn't that one in his shell upside down just adorable.

Tea by Petti - she has the best little scene type stamps. 

 Towed by Leslie - just great that she has a tow truck to tow the truck and on the address side of her postcard is the second defination of a Toad.
Time by Grace -  all those timely time pieces.
Turtle by Roberta - terrific carved looking image of a turtle.

S Postcard Buddies

 S is for Sign --- Skate --- Stand --- Style --- Seahorse!  this month two are the same but different.  Sign by sue (me) - Happy birthday sign image by Hot Potatoes Fabric and Wall Stamps .  did you notice that I also try to match up the color with the letter of the month.  S for sign and sienna.  Skate by muriel and petti - skating snowman by muriel - she punched out a circle for her skating snowman and added a glitter trail.  petti stamped a bunch of skating people including one who took a tumble.  Stand by leslie - she is very clever with her two definations.  a cake stand and on address side people standing.  Style by grace - she shows off all her style and grace.  get it?  style and grace (her name is grace).  sorry couldn't resist that play on words.  Seahorse by roberta - this postcard has texture with masking tape.  yes, she covered her postcard in masking tape then stamped on top of it.  clever girl.
