GIU day 4 - step pop up card

It's Thursday day 4 for GIU guest blogging and in keeping with my theme ... in case you haven't figured it out ... it's pop up style cards.  Today I'm showing you the basic step pop up card.  It is the first pop up card I learned how to create.
stamps used:  Unity wreath builder stamp step by Gina K. designs
I couldn't resist to use my new wreath builder stamp set that just arrived a couple of days ago.  I did the basic wreath builder cards but you can watch videos from Gina K. or Jennifer McGuire for more advanced ideas.
The inside of this card is a basic step pop up card ... if you don't know what that is then take a look at these photos.
 step card templates
measurements:
inside step card - 5 1/4" x 8 1/4"
Fold in half then on the fold cut two parallel (two cuts next to each other).
Fold the cut out back and forth.
Next unfold the card and reverse fold the cut out section.
That is all there is to it.

Here's a look inside the card with three steps.
Thanks for stopping by.  Remember to comment to be included in the Unity stamp grab bag.  Come back tomorrow for my last guest blogger post.

Big on Paper Dolls!

Check out this BIG paper doll dresser accordion step card!  It is BIG!  I got this idea from Lois one of my sister design team members of Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps Heinrich Co. that she did for our January blog hop here on her blog.  I saw it and thought.....WOW!  so she was gracious enough to email me the directions she found online.  It was a bit of a challenge but I did get this one done and at a future time I will make another one but for now this one is it for me. Click on pic for bigger view.  There is a lot going on in this dresser.....paper piecing, used embossing folder for Armoire doors and pattern papers for wallpaper.

You can click on my pics for a bigger look. Glad you are back visiting here for our third day of hopping.  If your were here yesterday you read all about my adventures with reverse stamping well..........continuing today but no papers catching fire, yeah for me!  I did the reverse soot stamping again but this time with red ink for my I "heart" USA card.  I am loving this technique.  Like it so much did it again for my eagle card.  The eagle is reverse soot stamping but some of the stamping wasn't very good so I just cut out the majestic eagle and mounted him on my center step card.  Now onto Janine's blog to see more red, white and blue.

This month for my theme it's step cards!  they are fun to make and come in all sizes and orientations so let's step out this week!  I have two fire-tastic cards for you today.
First and my favorite is the original step card .... it's a simple accordion fold that everyone can do with ease.  check out the background piece on this card...it's reverse soot stamping.....what fun!  this card fits so well because I actually caught my card on fire!  lol!  yes, first one did catch fire but I practiced and then I love this technique.  Now for my second step card I stamped directly on the step just for fun and added some paper I textured with an embossing folder. Click on my pictures to see it bigger! Continue on to Janine's blog to see the fires she can start or better yet put out!
