stand alone cards

stamps used:  MFP (out of business)
Although I used stamps that are not available anymore, you can use any stamps in your stash.
Stand Alone card
measurements:
base card - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"  score at 2" and 3 1/8" at each end.
pattern papers - two of 5 1/4" x 1 3/4", one of 5 1/4" x 2
oval die cuts - use whatever you have to fit.
To fold card:
valley, mountain, mountain, valley
you can look at the photo to see the folds then all there is to do is adhere the pattern papers and the oval dies to the front of the card.  For the back of the card I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4" x 2", stamped a saying and there is plenty of room to sign it.

Art Journal wk#35 Collage

week #35 - Collage
stamps used:  Stamper's Anon., dylusions, MFP
Yeah! for me.  I'm all caught up again for my art journal challenge.  this week is collage which sometimes for me a bit out of my comfort zone but I like the way this page turned out.  I looked around my craft table and just used what was there so first I glued down a piece of printed deli paper.  This deli paper is used as placemats at a restaurant in MA that friends and I ate at when we were away for a weekend.  next I glued on some stamped images I had colored and fussy cut that are in a container on my table.  I added some washi tape because let's face it we all have rolls of it!  last I stamped the umbrella...colored it in with chalks....stamped clouds but they were getting lost so I paper pieced them to make them pop.  done and done!

Art journal wk#31 Mandala

week #31 - Mandala
Here is my take on the mandala prompt.  I have a Stencil Girl mandala stencils so I wanted to try out the distress oxide inks on black so ....... I painted my page with dylusions black paint and let it dry overnight.  I placed the stencil on the painted black page and went to town with distress oxides: antique linen, twisted citron and spiced marmalade.  it looks much better in real life.  will be playing more with oxides on black.  on the top corners I stamped MFP medallion with white pigment ink and just hand wrote mandala and date with dylusions white paint pen.

Art Journal wk#29 - list

week #29 - feature a list
stamps used:  MFP
This prompt made me think of Santa so that is what I did for feature a list.  I first hand drew the scroll then stamped sayings inside the scroll .... for to mention I did use my Prisma color pencils to color the ends of the scroll and the stamped Santa.  the background is just colors stippled with my old stand bys....my stipple brushes.

Galaxy fun

alien card: alien by RSA, moonscape by unmounted(unknown), earth by StarvingArtiststamps
spaceman card: spaceman, planets by StarvingArtiststamps, saying by MFP

Had fun making all these galaxy backgrounds using Peerless watercolors that I've had in my stash for years...many years! and they work beautifully.  with the top two backgrounds I used Peerless watercolors which you will see in video at the bottom of this post or in my Sue Wisniewski - YouTube channel.  for the white stars I just dotted the background with different white gel pens.  the samples at the bottom of the photo I used another product I found in my stash that I've had again for many, many years.....the splotches are MicaColor pigment watercolor paints.  Just keep in mind you can use any watercolors or even re-inkers you have in your stash for this technique.
watch my video below and if you like it please give it a thumbs up on YouTube.  thanks.

art journal - here comes the sun/subtle

Here are two more page layouts in my art journal adventure.  the prompts this time are here comes the sun and use subtle colors.  for the sun layout I used my blending tool with distress inks....basically the colors of the sun....yellows and orange...after that I did some stenciling and doodling and of course ..... you know me the die heart stamper sooooooooo I stamped a sun and saying.
sun layout details:
stamps - MFP stamps
stencils - wendy, dylusions and crafters

For my layout with subtle colors again I blended colors with my distress inks.  next I used a couple of TH stencils then stamped owl, sayings and that fun stitched block.  to finish it I taped on a piece of burlap ribbon which I pulled apart a bit for more texture....was going for a nest effect.

Twisted triple time stamping with video

stamps - MFP stamps
inks - Ranger and SU
I thought it would be fun to bring back the technique Triple time stamping with a twist.  The twist is just that ... the cards are placed in a twisted fashion on the card.  I think it is a fun change on this technique that has been around for a few years.  what do you think?
please watch video at the bottom of this post or at Sue Wisniewski - YouTube
measurements:
cream cardstock layers - 2 x 3 1/4, 3 x 4 1/4, 4 x 5 1/4
goldenrod layer - 2 1/4 x 3 1/2
purple layer - 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
base card (before folding) - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2

Tag time

My tag today is just a fun tag where I blended Ranger distress inks, dropped droplets of water for what I call the faux bleach technique.  makes bleached out looking water spots.  after that I stenciled some dots then because it's me I have to stamp.  also fussy cut out the Stampers Anonymous TH crazy birds and did a little water coloring on him with new watercolor pencils I picked up last week.  they are inktense watercolor pencils which I've heard a lot about and saw them used in videos...not convinced they are the best or so different from others but with have to play with the few I have and decide more later.  the other stamps are from MFP Stamp Shop.  Will add this to OneLittleTag challenge on facebook, too.
entering this in the following challenge:
1.  MFPStamps blog hop - water background tech.
2.  Simon Says Wed. - anything goes

what's alien-ing you?

It's been a crazy week with mother nature around here and it is going to continue tonight according to the forecasts.  Here is a fun shaker card I made for an upcoming card swap.  shakers are fun to make and fun to shake, shake, shake!  this is what I call an element shaker because only the circle part is the shaker not the whole card.  clear as mud, right?

card details:
stamps - MFP Space Fun stamp set
ranger glossy accents
cloud embossing folder
nestabilities circle dies

Hi I'm happy to be participating in our Favorite stamp set blog hop so for today Jan. 27th I'm featuring Bundle of Joy (2014) stamp set.  I needed to make a couple of baby brag books so this stamp set worked out great plus I used a couple of images from an older set called Oh, Baby! from 2013. Both baby brag books are the same but different in little ways just to differentiate from grandma and mom's brag book.  Look here to see other samples I made for Bundle of Joy stamp set.  Leave a comment here to be included in the drawing to win a favorite stamp set.
