Flowers

Here's a sneak peek at Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Home Page new release for June called Great Flowers.  My tag is all stamped with
VersaMark ink then dusted with Ranger Perfect Pearls in gold...it is so shimmery IRL.  I hope it shows up in the photo.  for the background on the tag I swiped on some Ranger stains and I did an oldie but goodie trick...outlined the edge with a Krylon gold leafing pen.  I forgot how much I liked doing that on my projects.  My card I'm displaying here is simple but effective because I embossed on vellum then painted the back of the stamped vellum with Perfect Pearls that I made into paint.  Cut out and layer on top of two different ribbons, add a saying and you are done.

Gear up

Today I'm giving you a sneak peek at Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Home Page Gears to you and Gear Up.  They are new this month!  they are two good stamp sets with lots of gears and sayings to go along with them.  If you follow my blog you know I pick a theme for each month to carry through our blog hop.  my theme this month is heat embossing because I just purchased a new to me embossing powder by Ranger called Liquid Platinum.....it is a creamy silvery gold color and it has become my favorite.  my friends are mostly likely yelling...oh no! our sue embossing......well, yes I am that just proves how much I like this ep!  Oh well, what was I talking about oh yes, my theme for the month.....heat embossing, vellum and Perfect Pearls.

MFPaHC Lanterns sneak peek

It's sneak peek time of Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Home Page April release stamp sets.  Bet you can guess the name of this stamp set......right you guessed it, Lanterns.  I decided to do faux postage this month for my theme but while I was looking for my faux postage templates in my stash I found sheets of these mosaic sticker sheets I purchased years ago when I was working at stamp store.  We had a visit from Natalie of Magenta stamps who was teaching a class using these sticker sheets.  First we did DTP (direct to paper) technique at that time with cat's eye ink pads.  Next just do what I call collage stamping to fill the sheet then peel sections off and make a card.  With one sheet you can make probably up to 10 cards well, at least 6 cards.  Another old embellishment are the tassels!  phew! haven't used them in more years than I want to admit.
enter in the following challenges:
1.  Addicted to stamps and more! - photo inspiration - I used the colors
2.  CCEE Stampers challenge #CCEE1414 - use 3 stamps
3.  Fashionable Stamping Challenge - favorite technique DTP
4.  Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge - pick a stamp any stamp

More Paper doll fun

Here's the accordion folder (on the left) with Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. Home Page Paper Doll stamp
sets that I showed here when we did our January blog hop.  I made a second accordion folder with a purple color scheme ... so which do you like better green or purple?  leave me a comment and I'll have a drawing to give it away to you. Please include an email address so I can contact you.  To see a bigger view of any of the pics just click on the picture.

You can see my green accordion folder with paper dolls in the video here on Patty's blog, my sister design team member along with a little muslin bag I stamped with the paper doll and all her clothes.  Patty also showed a sneak peek of a couple of shaker cards I did for our upcoming stamp set called Birdcages in February.  So you guessed it next month my theme is Shaker cards!  including the original style using foam board....I forgot what a pain in the neck it is to cut foam board with an exacto knife but I did it so come back during our February blog hop to see all my shakers real or faux.

MFPaHC Paper Dolls sneak peek

I'm not doing the Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Co. hop for the first week of January but will for second week starting on January 14, 2014.
Today is sneak peek day for  Paper Doll stamp set which brings me back to my childhood playing with colorforms. who remembers colorforms?  guess I'm dating myself because I don't think they make them anymore. this month my theme is accordion folds or fun fold cards.  To the left is an accordion fold folder filled with all the fun paper doll clothes and paper doll herself.  added vellum envelopes for the little shoes and things.  To the right I couldn't resist stamping a small muslin bag to carry paper doll and clothes.  If you visit Patty's blog you can see a video showing my samples and more.
please check out  Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. to see more ideas from my sister team members.

MFPaHC 5th and mini Nov. sneak peek

Time to showcase Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Co. November 5th stamp set Calendar and mini New Year today.  Before I show you my cards it's also time for me to tell you my theme for this month.....well couldn't make up my mind so I'm doing two things this month so you will see marque cards and paper sunburst cards from me all this week.
First up is my Calendar marque card which can be seen in action on Patty, my sister team member's blog here in her video with other great ideas from fellow team members.
When I first discovered this card it was called a marque card but I think it has been recently re-named a peek-a-boo card either way it's still a fun card.  Second card for our mini New Year stamp set is also a marque card with a different view.  You can see more samples here on MFPaHC blog so stop by there, too.  don't forget to leave comments along the way to be included in MFPaHC drawing for one of the new stamp sets that me and all our design team members will be showcasing this week in our blog hop so stop by again starting tomorrow to see more!  thanks!

MFPaHC sneak peek early

It's a long weekend so I decided to give you a early sneak peek at of an image from one of Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company new release stamp sets for September.  There is a lot going on in this card so I'll start with the background piece.  It's actually plastic packaging from a nestabilities die set....cool to use something that we normally throw out to the trash.  First I did the polish stone technique on the plastic then ran it through my Big Kick with an embossing folder.  Came out pretty good....don't you think?  used my atg gun to tape it to a piece of white cardstock then to note card.  On a piece of glossy cardstock repeated the polish stone technique then white embossed the cat onto it, cut out the cat and glued it along with the saying to the front of the card with embossed plastic piece.  cool, huh?  had fun making this card and got very inky with the alcohol inks but it all comes out in the wash.
card details:
stamps - Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company cat from What a Scream stamp set(sept. new release).....Born to be Wild from Big Cats stamp set
Ranger alcohol inks
Colorbox frost white pigment ink
white embossing powder
***Polished Stone technique***
On glossy cardstock or plastic packaging
squeeze AI onto felt on applicator tool then tap the applicator with the inks all over the surface of cardstock or plastic packaging.  the inks will blend together.  when it is how you like allow to dry for a few minutes then use in your projects.

Brads and MFP sneak peek week

It's another month and what a month ..... it's June! .... this is my month .... yes, it's my birthday this week.  You will probably get tired of hearing about it but hey, our birthdays only come around once a year so I think we should celebrate!  To start off this month I will be joining in a challenge or two and showing off Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company June new releases so let's get started.
Two for the price of one here on my blog .... I'm repeating myself .... my husband always says I ramble ..... now what was I saying ... oh yeah, two for the price of one.... first MFP sneak peek Classic Dad stamp set which I really like it is full of classic cars and some good sayings so without further ado here is my card.  I'm following the trend of paper sunbursts.  It's a technique going around the net lately of cutting strips of pattern papers and positioning them into a sunburst aka the name paper sunbursts.  I don't have original instructions so I just did it my way which is basically cutting rectangle strips of pattern paper, cutting in half diagonally then taping to card.  easy peasy and each one is a little different plus you can use up all those scraps of pattern papers that I know you have. lol!  and mix and match.  Got out my Brilliance lightning black ink pad to stamp the images and added brads for wheels for fun.  Oh yeah, there is also some gold ribbon wrapped around the layer for added texture.  Hope you like my card.
Challenges:
1.  Art Impressions Stamps blog - add brads
2.  Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings! - masculine card with ribbon

MFP sneak peek - Marsh Silhouettes & Lily of the Valley

Today at Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. blog we are
sneak peeking May new release 5th and mini stamp sets.  First I'm showing our 5th set Marsh Silhouettes which goes great with another new release Marsh Birds which will be showcased at our blog hop tomorrow.  This card you can also see over on MFP blog today but first I want to tell you what technique I will be showcasing for the May blog hop ..... drum roll...pppprumppadumadum....faux layers and masking sections.  Sorry don't know the fancy names that have been given to this technique but I'm sure you will know once you see my cards.

On to our mini set Lily of the Valley, a very nice set of stamps with several very nice sentiments to go with the Lily of the Valley flower.  This Lily of the Valley faux layer card can also be seen at MFP blog today.  Did a bookmark where I punched out a scallop square then sponged color and glitter.  My last card I stamped the saying and just drew a couple of lines to encase this wonderful saying then masked it off and stamped the Lily of the Valley showing on the top and bottom of the layer.  All the cards were colored with prisma color pencils.  Please come back tomorrow to see all the cards and projects from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company design team during our week long blog hop.
