Booooooooo

 Booooooooo

These Halloween cards are a little different for me ... I say that because of the color scheme.

dies used:  TH Sizzix Fright Night and Gothic Protraits

I had the backgrounds done and laying out on my table, along with a bunch of dies I had die cut ... so ... why not use them together.  And that is how these cards came about.  Also when I stenciled these backgrounds ... guess what ... you guessed it ... those color ink pads were out on my table, so there you have it.  You could say I was being creative or just lazy.  what do you think creative? or lazy?  Either way I like them with all their quirks of color and theme.

B & W tiny but mighty

 B & W tiny but mighty

I made several more tiny but mighty 3" cards.  These cards

supplies used:  Altenew embossing folders: Natural wicker, Organic linen. dies: Sizzix vault fright night, vault gothic portraits.

can be used as tags, also.  I figured since I was making tiny... they might as well be some sort of tag.  I do like the addition of the embossing folders in the background for texture.  I forgot to say I'm entering these tiny but mighty card/tags in Jen Rzasa #altenewchallengelive  Tuesday challenge.  These are in the configuratations of the rules, being 3" or smaller BUT I did have to make them in the spirit of Halloween.

Happy Halloween!

 Happy Halloween!

It's the last day of October so we all know what that means ... All Hallows Eve or Halloween!  This is the night when all the witches, and goblins come out to play.

stamps & supplies used:  Art Foamies skeleton, TH stencils/dies

I started out making these into 5" x 7" cards but decided to just keep them as big postcards.  There is what I call collage stamping on these two postcards.  Collage stamping is basically stamping over other images or adding a stencil with a lighter color.  You can see more collage stamping in this post with links to other posts.  I used a lot of my Catherine Pooler inks, which if you follow my blog, you know they are my favorite ink pads.

stamps/supplies used:  Art Foamies skeleton, TH stamps, MFP sayings

The company Art Foamies is a small family owned business that makes big foam style stamps.  The owner, Kae Pea is a lovely person who I met in person when I was working at GASS (stamp store that closed there doors years ago) when she taught there in person.  Back then she was with Rubber Moon stamps.

Card swap - all occasions

 All occasions cards
It's February and time for another swap card for my local creative card crew group.  This time the theme is all occasions ... which means everyone picked a holiday or occasions to make a card.  Of course, I picked Halloween!
stamps used:  Stampin' Up

I went through my stash and found this old stamp set that I hadn't used for years, so I thought it would be fun to bring it back to life.  I stamped it with a bright green ink on card, layered it onto bright green card layer.  On separate piece of cardstock I stamped the image again but this time in black ink.  I fussy cut out the mummy and popped him up on the green mummy then layered onto DSP layer.  Took the finished piece and layered onto bright green folded A2 card.  Oh yes, punched out a bat and mounted him on the top corner just for fun.  The Halloween is part of a bigger saying that I punched out with ovals.

Googly eyes!

This is my September card swap card for my local creative card crew group.  The theme was googly eyes!  so I decided to go Halloween with googly eye bats.

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

basic instructions:
1.   Reverse mask a circle to create a bright moon which was colored with yellow and orange inks.
2.  blend gray and black ink around the edges of the card to give it that gloomy Halloween effect.
3.  stamp two bats over the moon.
4.  punch out third bat and adhere to card and glue googly eyes.
5.  stamp cloudy texture image a couple of times with gray ink.
6.  stamp saying in black and add more googly eyes.
7.  layer stamped card to black layer then to yellow card.
If you would like to see more reverse masked, or masking techniques I have done, just type masking techniques in the search bar on the side of my blog.
Thank you for stopping by and come back again soon.  all comments welcomed.

Art journal week #40 Triangles and #41 Halloween

wk #40 (left side) Triangles
stamp used:  Just For Fun faux post cube
Stamped the triangle side three times to create a fun tree.  drew in a tree trunk, added some color with Pebbles chalks.  Oh, yes also drew a snow hill at the bottom of each of the trees and sponged on some more of the chalks.  easy peasy!
wk #41 (right side) Halloween
stamps used:  Just For Fun
stamped the spider web with grey ink down the page making sure to connect each one.  spiders were stamped with black ink along with "Beware"...Happy Halloween was stamped with grey ink.  The coffin was stamped on brown cardstock then fussy cut ..... stamped the bones hand on white cardstock and fussy cut them, then glued them inside the coffin.  glued the coffin with bones hands on the journal page.  got out a blending tool and added some dark spooky color along the page to finish it off.
