Wildflower, Yikes!

 Wildflower, Yikes!

Check me out over Blank Page Muse blog today with a pop up, or it can be called a pop out card.

Once you do one of these cards you will be addictive to this card design.
The wildflower is unique, and quirky along with the fun pattern paper.  Of course, with this quirky flower I just had to use a bright green ink to show it off.
First I wrote up these measurements for the pop up mechanism. Next I drew pictures to go along with my notes.
Measurements/Basic instructions:
1.  On A2 card 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" adhere pattern paper.
2.  die cut out section.  save cut out shape to adhere to pop up mechanism later.
3.  cut strip of cardstock 1 1/2" x 4"  score at 1", 2", 3".  fold on all scores.

4. on folded strip add glue (or favorite adhesive) to one of the sections with glue on the inside of the card at the fold.  see template/notes #2 drawing.  When card is closed you can see the strip through the opening.  Open card and fold the strip in half. see template/notes #3 drawing.  Put glue (or favorite adhesive) above fold of card.  see template/notes #3 drawing.  Close card to attach pop mechanism to card.

Next adhere die cut shape you saved from before to the pop up mechanism when card is closed.  Good idea to stamp/decorate the die cut shape before adhering to pop up mechanism.  Finish decorating to complete the card.

Pop out swing cards

 Pop out swing cards

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

This Pop out swing card is a fun card and easy to create.

Measurements:

base card:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2"  score at 4 1/4"

front layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

inside accordion layer:  5 1/4" x 6" score at 2" and 4"

pattern paper layer: 1 3/4" x 5"

tabs for inside:  1/2" x 4"  score at 2" (need two tabs)

Adhere 4" x 5 1/4" pattern paper to front of card.  Cut out opening with any die you have in your stash.  Adhere tab to top and bottom of accordion folded card, then tape tabs to inside of card.  Keep inside accordion fold card folded, and add double sided tape to folded end ... close card onto accordion folded card. Use cut out die and a smaller die to stamp image on.  Close card, and add stamped image to inside of accordion card.  In case I forgot to mention I also stamped a saying inside the card before I adhered the accordion card inside.

Black Magic and more cards

stamps used:  Magenta

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

Made some more Black Magic style cards.  You can see more on the Black Magic technique here in this post ,and you can also type Black Magic in search box to find more samples done by me.
I also did the Inlaid Frames technique, which you can find more details here in this post with a tutorial.   Besides doing Inlaid Frames, I also did a couple with the frame adhered to the card and the rectangle die cut mounted with foam mounting tape for a popped out effect.  The Inlaid Frames are the two top cards and the two bottom cards have the popped out sections.  Which do you like the best???  let me know in the comments.

GIU day 2 - pop out card

Here we are at day 2 for GIU gal week.
Today I'm showing a card that I'm not sure what to call it so I'm going to name it:
Pop-out accordion fold card
if anyone one has a better name just tell me when you comment because to be included in the drawing for the Unity stamp grab bag you need to comment.
I saw a card similar to mine on Pinterest but again ... no name or measurements so this is how I did it.
top folding card = 4 1/4" x 11"
folding mechanism:
strip 3 1/4" x 11"  score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2" and 8 1/4"
inside squares:
3" x 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" x 2 1/4"
Here are a couple of photos of sample of the inside of this card:
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment to be included in the Unity stamp grab bag prize.  See you tomorrow.
