Inlaid frame card

 Inlaid frame card

                                                           stamps used:  Stampin' Up

I tried my hand at an inlaid card, at least what I am calling an inlaid frame card.

basic instructions:

1.  stamped images on card.

2. die cut out a frame (any shape)

3. mounted the border frame with foam mounting tape.

4. inlaid the skinny scallop frame with glue.

5. mounted the stamped image with foam mounting tape.

Hopefully I will get better at this style card.  I plan on doing some more soon.

Black Magic and more cards

stamps used:  Magenta

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

Made some more Black Magic style cards.  You can see more on the Black Magic technique here in this post ,and you can also type Black Magic in search box to find more samples done by me.
I also did the Inlaid Frames technique, which you can find more details here in this post with a tutorial.   Besides doing Inlaid Frames, I also did a couple with the frame adhered to the card and the rectangle die cut mounted with foam mounting tape for a popped out effect.  The Inlaid Frames are the two top cards and the two bottom cards have the popped out sections.  Which do you like the best???  let me know in the comments.

Inlaid frame cards

stamps used:  Stampin' Up and Unity stamp co.

stamps used:  Stampin' Up and Unity stamp co.

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. and Stampin' Up

I call this technique Inlaid Frames because that is what it looks like to me.  I'm sure there is a more creative name out there, and if you know it, just leave me a comment so I can correct it.  This is also a two for one technique card, which I will explain below in my basic instructions.  I did see this style card at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts blog.

Basic instructions:

Reverse Masking technique:
1.  die cut a frame out of Masking Magic (brand name) by Therm O Web.  I think you can get similar product at Gina K Designs.
2.  place die cut frame on white card and blend colors for background.
3.  remove mask and there you have it.
4.  stamp images with any black ink.

Inlaid Frames:
1.  die cut smaller frame used for mask out of blended colors stamped card.
2.  mount cut out stamped frame with foam mounting tape to note card.
3.  adhere the stamped card panel piece to the inside of the mounted frame.
There you have it an Inlaid frame card.  Click on the photos to see a better view of the cards.
