Art Journal wk # 32 - water

week # 32 Water
stamps used:  Fred Mullett, StampaRosa, StarvingArtiststamps
stencil: Simon Says wave stencil
I am liking the simple journal pages I'm doing lately since this challenge is a year long one.  For this water prompt I stamped this beautiful if you can call an octopus beautiful ... yes, I can.  Anyway I stamped him with black ink then did the wave stencil all around him.  stamped the two sayings and called it a day.

Galaxy fun

alien card: alien by RSA, moonscape by unmounted(unknown), earth by StarvingArtiststamps
spaceman card: spaceman, planets by StarvingArtiststamps, saying by MFP

Had fun making all these galaxy backgrounds using Peerless watercolors that I've had in my stash for years...many years! and they work beautifully.  with the top two backgrounds I used Peerless watercolors which you will see in video at the bottom of this post or in my Sue Wisniewski - YouTube channel.  for the white stars I just dotted the background with different white gel pens.  the samples at the bottom of the photo I used another product I found in my stash that I've had again for many, many years.....the splotches are MicaColor pigment watercolor paints.  Just keep in mind you can use any watercolors or even re-inkers you have in your stash for this technique.
watch my video below and if you like it please give it a thumbs up on YouTube.  thanks.

Ice days are here!

Yes, the ice has arrived here in CT.  they had to close one of the bridges .... yesterday, I think it was.  I didn't have any where to go so not sure which day.  sometimes I go for days without needing to go out but in this day and age with all the electronics you hear about things almost immediately. that's how I found out....facebook.  Anyway thought this card is appropriate for the occasion.  It's a pop up card with the igloos and penguin fussy cut and mounted to mountains of snow and ice.  all images from Starving Artistamps  what I like about these stamps (not affiliated with company just like them) is that they are deeply etched red rubber.  sometimes you just have to get out the rubber.  today most of the stamp sets are clear so you have to make sure you have a cushion to stamp, or specific ink so it doesn't hurt the stamp ... BUT with rubber you can just stamp, have fun, and not worry about anything.  rubber hold up to most everything.  guess you can tell I'm a fan of red rubber stamps opposed to clear stamps.
today it's a little cold but seems to be ice free so go out and have fun.☺

Altered mini composition books

These are mini composition books that I stamped, and add images with those fun "weebles wobble" but don't fall down springs.  I know they have another name but for the life of me I can't remember. They are little favors for friends that I will be seeing or am seeing as you read this post.  we get together a couple times a year to stamp, eat and visit with friends.  It's a lot of fun.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to a fun couple!  couldn't resist using this old couple from Rogue Redhead Designs and fun playful saying fromStarvingArtistamps.  I knew this card would be perfect for them because they are such a fun couple and have been together for years and they both have a wonderful sense of humor.  It's an explosion card which I have been having fun with this month.  I will have a tutorial on explosion card in January.

More cards for class

Our first class was last Thursday and we had a lot of fun making these cards plus the Distress stain card showing here on the left.  This week we will be doing a fun circle cut out card with a sick owl inside.  How about making a card with an ordinary lunch bag from your kitchen cabinet then a lift up swing card.  I think it is going to be another fun night of stamping.  Used stamps from Hero Arts, Stamping Up, and StarvingArtiststamps.  Of course some coloring with Prisma color pencils.

A Valentine

Here is a triple easel card I stamped and sent to my niece.  It is just so cute.....all the images are from Starvingartiststamps . This is really not a hard card to create as long as you make the dimensions divisible by three after that it is just a matter of layering and stamping.

Entering this card in following challenges:
1.  Simon Says Stamp and Show - anything goes
2.  Fashionable Stamping Challenges - mono color with one more color
3.  Mark's Finest Papers - shape card

Baby book to be......finished!

I really like the way my baby scrapbook turned out.  I'm surprised at myself since it is mostly punched things and hardly any stamping.....me the die heart stamper!  guess the reason for this is I don't have any baby images so improvised with punches. The banner is free cut and stamped (yes, stamped! lol!) with two different sayings from Starvingartiststamps stamp set.  The first page with the information I just typed in my word program then printed out and cut to size that is why it really isn't centered but that's o.k. with me.....it's handmade. I used my bind it all to bind the book.  I'll show more pages later in the week.

Sweet Valentine

This adorable sweet candy is going to my sweet adorable niece.  Easy peasy card just stamped Starving Artiststamps candy image with Brilliance coffee bean ink on white card then stamped it two more times on pattern papers and cut out different sections.  Paper pieced it to the stamped white card, layered and there you have it. For the background piece I used  Tim Holtz Sizzix texture fade embossing folder.

Guess I've been among the missing this past week here on my blog.  Only excuse is been snowed in with cabin fever and was working on Valentine cards.  Did get 14 Valentine slider cards done.  Here is a sneak peek at my card.
You will have to wait till after Monday to see the whole card.  Don't want to give away everything just in case any of my friends who will be receiving this card at our get together.  Will say that the actual card is a different color.

Gingersnap challenge - polar animals

Over on Gingersnap Creations there is a Polar animal challenge so I decided to enter since it has been a while since I have done a challenge.  I choice to use Starving Artiststamps  adorable Arctic fox.  I colored in both foxes with Primsa color pencils and added some glitter to her tail and at her feet to represent snow.  Used snowflake and dots cuttlebug embossing folders on each card also did patchwork technique on the top note die cut out from Stampin' Up.

Have fun!

Faux Lattice cards

I call this Faux Lattice cards because I just add the strips but don't weave like a real type lattice fencing.
Here are a couple of cards I created using  Starving Artiststamps  images.  Not affiliated just really like these fun characters.  I found this idea on this blog Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds:Lattice card.  She has a lot of fun ideas.  enjoy.

BIG Bookmark

Here is a Big bookmark I made for my husband's birthday earlier this month.  He is an avid reader so it was a fitting gift.
It's very simple just stamped with VersaMark ink then embossed with gold embossing powder.  Haven't embossed in ages but he always liked that effect.
The crown image is from Starving Artiststamps and the Happy Birthday background is from  Purple Onion Designs.

Have no affiliations to either of these companies besides liking their images.
