First Snow December 2009
Here in Connecticut we had some SNOW! and if you know me you know I don't like the "S" word! but living in New England you can't get away with it. The top picture is a Holly bush that came from my brother's yard in Virginia. We took a clipping and never thought it would grow here in the winter but it has flourish now for going on three years!
Here is a picture of bird bath in our front yard. No bathing here. lol!

Just couldn't resist that funny title. I finally made an easel card! I've been putting it off thinking it would take forever to figure out but an easel card is easy! Think I will be making more of these fun cards. enjoy!

supplies:
Frog & saying – Anthony & Burt Best Sellers EZMount Stamp N' Store (SI)
Ranger Archival Jet Black ink (craft store)
Ranger Distress inks – peeled paint, shabby shutters (SI)
Ranger blending tool
bone folder (SI)
Prisma Color Pencils (craft store)

4.Cut piece of white cardstock at 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”.
5.Stamp frog with fly on this piece with Jet Black ink.
6.Color in frog image with Prisma color pencils starting with darker green pencil then lighter green pencil. This will give shading on the frog. Pencil images are colored with light brown along the top and light orange for the body of the pencil. Fly's wings are light purple with heavier pressure along the edge of wings for darker color. With a gray pencil add a little shading under the paper.
7.With Ranger blending tool add color along the edge of stamped card with shabby shutters & peeled paint ink pads.
8.Layer stamped piece on 4 x 4 dark green card. Set aside till ready to assemble card.
Assemble easel card:
1.Take 4 x 8 base card and fold both score lines towards you which will create the easel part of card. It will fold into a long triangle shape.
2.Cut a piece of decorative paper at 3 ¾” x 3 ¾” and layer onto the inside bottom of base card.
3.Stamp saying – Stamping Friends on the bottom of decorative paper.
4.Glue a button right above the saying. This will hold card open.

Challenges closing
It's a shame. Three challenges Awfully Big Art Adventure, Thank God It's Firday & Saturday Workout have closed thier challenge sites. I admit I only did them once in a while but always enjoyed seeing what others created for the challenges. If I was better with the computer & blogging site I would start a challenge site but I am not that well versed in computers. Thank you to all that do have challenge sites for us to create. enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 12
Here is my tag #12. Have to say this is my least favorite out of all the tags only because I'm not very good at forming the flowers. Guess I need to practice more.

12 Tags of Christmas Day 11
Tag #11 - o.k. I know the title is Christmas but since I didn't have any of the stamps that Tim used I figured I go with another theme. Also didn't have his new brad making tool so I just used a store bought fabric brad. I just might have to check out that tool since I like to use brads in a lot of my cards. Back to my tag ... all images are from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz clear stamp set Flights of Fancy. Rock Candy stickles is my new favorite stickles. It's sparkly but not over bearingly glittery.
enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 10
Tag #10 - another winner technique.
For this foil technique I used HVac silver tape and it worked great. Used Ranger alcohol inks to color this tag and all the pieces underneath the foil are grungeboard.

12 Tags of Christmas Day 9
Tag #9 - this tag is a scream! (couldn't resist)
Used the pics on Tim Holtz blog. Don't you just love the crying baby. Remember those days where you try & try to get that perfect picture but your baby just doesn't want to cooperate.
I like the film strip ribbon that Tim used (need to get some) but since I didn't have I improvised with cardstock & a small square punch. Not bad for a faux film strip. Used grungeboard numbers that I embossed in silver. Had some left over faux typewriter letters from years ago when we made them out of washers from hardware store & diamond glaze.
enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 8
Tag #8 - please excuse the bad scan but my camera battery is charging.
Had fun doing this tag with the smoking vellum and all. Don't have any lamppost images like Tim used so my tree was handy and I think it works just fine. Found some tiny christmas lights that were perfect for the tree. Used a grunge board key that I embossed in silver.
Enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 7
Tag #7 - For this one I went with just stamping and trying the techniques for the tag. I will work on finding just the right embellishments later.
I did use the masking material and it works great and as you can see mine isn't holiday themed. Just felt like using the umbrella man from one of Tim's stamp sets. I do like how the paint from the Dabbers resist the inks and pops! It's hard to see but I added dots of Waterfall Stickles for the effect of rain.
enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 6
Here is my tag #6. I'm still going strong creating the tags from Tim Holtz blog.
I really like the technique for this tag where you glue dictonary page to tag....allow to dry.....tape masking tape on different spots and slowly remove the masking tape to remove some of the dictionary page. Next blend distress inks with blending tool. Stamp images. The car & tree are embossed then mounted on tag with foam mounting tape.
Enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas #5
Tag #5
Getting better with Distress embossing powders. This one was a stretch for me because I didn't have the images or embellishments.
Instead of fragments I used Tim Holtz Clearz Circlez .... these were before fragments. Stamped Noel with white ink and used Martha Stewarts border punch.
enjoy!

New Images to be released from Faerie Song Rubber Art Stamps
I'm one of the card designers for Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images and once in a while we get images before they are released and this is one of the stamp sets called NIDLONGDIR (#FSMM-1) by Marianne Mathiasen for Faerie Song Art Stamps. I really liked this image of the Faerie King.
On the lime green card I stamped the King on a piece of Mica then colored it with Ranger Paint Dabbers and taped it to card. The circle section on the bottom of the card is a piece of sequence waste that I layed over the card then dabbed color with Paint Dabber, remove the sequence waste and viola! a fun bubble looking background.
The light purple card I stamped the King on four pieces of different blue/purple cardstocks, cut all the cardstocks into four equal parts then layered onto card. Fun & easy!
enjoy!

TH 12 Tags of Christmas day 1
Over on Tim Holtz blog he doing his 12 Days of Tags again this year. This year I'm going to try to actually create a tag a day and show mine here.
I like the idea of making snow/iceles with stickles glitter glue on top of the tag. This is also the first time I stamped and embossed on grunge board then cut it out.
enjoy!
