I sent this into RubberStampMadness for the themes of as time goes by and black plus one color and it was accepted!  It's just a fun page I did with The Stampsmith I Love Lucy stamps for the focal point.  I've been learning that I can do big ..... if you know me I have always shrunk projects down and basically only did note cards but recently since I've taken a couple of classes with Dyan Reaveley I've discovered it can be o.k. to go BIG.

Puzzle time

Not sure if I showed this so if I did then this would be best of 2014 post.  I found this puzzle in my stash and stamped it with Stampsmith Audrey Hepburn images and sent this fun mail to a friend who likes to put puzzles together.  Her and her husband got a kick out of this little puzzle.

tic-tac-toe challenge

Over at The Stampsmith Challenge they are doing a  tic-tac-to challenge so I decided to join in this month.  I did ribbon, emboss and metal for my card.  used some stuff I haven't used in ages like metal tape that I taped to cardstock then ran through my big kick with embossing folder.  I think it came out pretty good also have metal mini brads on the card with wide ribbon...can't miss this ribbon. lol!

A splash of lime

Two posts in one day....very productive for me.  Had this card in my head and it came out pretty much how I planned it.  That's a first for me.  It's a top fold card, the background layer is stamped with Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps roses cover to cover image and one cut out to pop on top of card.  The main image with the lady smelling the flowers is from The Stampsmith .  The corner punch is from Stampin' Up and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons .  This is my take on vintage being the main image is vintage looking.

Clara Bow

Last Sunday on the way home from stamp convention we all talking in the car and I don't remember how she....Clara Bow - It Girl - came about in conversation.  I do remember it was my friend Petti who was talking about her anyway.....I was going through my box of handmade cards to find a card to send to my S-I-L who is going through a rough time right now and there was this card I had made with Graphic 45 paper and if I remember correctly the stamped image is from The Stampsmith .  Seemed apropo that I send it to Petti.  I never took a picture of it so my friend took photo and sent to me so I could share this card with all of you.  thank you my friend.

Tag, Stripes & more

There is a lot going on in this card to start off I used one of my favorite old time images Ophelia from The Stampsmith.  Check out the colorized ribbon that I added to tag and the striped ribbon paper flower on the top of tag.  Also added some dimension by using sequence waste as a stencil, one of my favorite ways to add dots to a project.

Shimmer, sparkle & shine

 

In person these two cards do shimmer, sparkle and shine.  Audrey Hepburn from The Stampsmith is stamped with versamark ink pad then with cotton balls add Pebbles shimmery chalks with a dabbing technique.  Once all the chalk was covering Audrey I wiped off excess chalk with a soft tissue.  Next misted her with Ranger Perfect Pearls mist, taped her to black and gold cardstock.  Stamped celebrity also from The Stampsmith on white cardstock, punched out with oval punches and taped to top corner of the cards.  Punched a hole and added May Arts glittery gold lacy ribbon.

Piano lady free standing pop up card

This month over at The Stampsmith Challenge ......the challenge is to use ribbon and lace on your card so I got out my May Arts ribbons.  Here is a free standing pop card I made for this challenge using what I call the Piano Lady from The Stampsmith as the main image.  I think she came out very nice and with the calming blue color scheme works well, too.

Also here Pat is having a blog hop challenge where you can join in so I decided to join in!  I made mine a birthday card using The Stampsmith Lucy image.  You might think this is a hard card to create but it isn't.  The hardest thing to do, for me anyway, is taping the pop up tag in the middle.  That's the trick make sure you get that tag taped in the middle because if it's off to any side it won't really stand correctly.  Did you notice that fun lacy ribbon?  that's from May Arts .  Have fun!

Favors for friends

At annual stamping weekend with friends in New Hampshire I'll be passing out these trivets and tea candle tea cakes as their favors.  This is something you do if you want to ..... in past years I've haven't done it so I decided to go all out this year.  I picked up the trivets or tiles at Lowes then stamped on them with Ranger Ink black archival ink, sprayed with Krylon matt finish spray next added a thin layer of Diamond Glaze.  Coffee Gal or as I like to call her Tea Gall image is from The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps the swirl image on the sides is from ASITH and what's brewin is from Stampa Rosa which I believe is out of business.  The tea cake is a battery operated tea lite!  too cute even if I say so myself.  Learned how to make them from my friend Petti who is a SU demonstrator.

Two challenges- Stampsmith & Fashionable stamping

Today I'm going to use this one card for two challenges which I will list at the bottom of this post.
First I want to explain the circle embellishment on the left of my card....yes, you guessed it, it is stamp collageing that I did over at Roberta's house this past week.  I die cut it out with Nestabilities standard circles.  The coffee gal or what I like to call her Tea Time honey because I'm a tea drinker myself is stamped with Ranger Distress ink, cut out with an EK Sucess scallop circle punch then added color with same Distress ink around the scallop circle.  Tape it to a paper doilly add some faux baker's twine and viola!

Faux Leather bookmark

A quick and easy way to get a leather look or faux leather.  Bascially you rip pieces of good old regular masking tape and fill a piece of cardstock.  Next step do DTP technique with ink pads.  I used a bunch of Ranger Ink Distress ink pads, buffing with paper towel after each color.  King of spades image is from The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps so of course this bookmark (yes, I'm on a bookmark kick) is for faux technique: The Stampsmith Challenge . 

A question came up:
I'm sorry I've been stamping so long I forget to explain myself sometimes.
What is DTP?
 DTP = direct to paper which means to take your ink pad directly to your paper to add color. Drag ink pad over your paper.

Vintage

This week theme at The Stampsmith Challenge is vintage.  I got out Graphic 45 Curtain Call papers along with The Stampsmith image, May Arts black silk ribbon, Ranger Distress Stains, and Tim Holtz film strip....alot of name droping here, huh.  Does anyone remember Clara Bow?  or Scaramouche?  I seen the movie Scaramouche on TCM but not Clara Bow.  Get the reference to changing face?

Fun with friends

Here we are all together again for Petti's SU catalog party.  Fun table set up like a picnic with fun foods like sloppy joes, cole slaw, chips and delicious iced tea. 

Petti and Susan laughing and creating great roof flashing flower projects.  Need to go to Home Depot now and get a roll of roof flashing!  We also made this cute little LED Flameless tealight candle birthday cakes.  They are so cute!

I gave everyone a little gift.  Simple but effective...ordinary file folders covered with Tim Holtz Paper Stash papers.  Covered post-it notes with same papers and last but not least Notables stamped with (The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps) Frank Sinatra who is one of my friend's absolutely favorite entertainers. Challenge by two

What does challenge by two mean?  for me it means that I'm entering this circle telescope card for two challenges.
First The Stampsmith Challenge where the theme is friends.  I used Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis and The Supremes for the friends part of The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps .
Second for The Play Date Cafe for thier color theme hollyhock, sky blue and orange.  Below is photo inspiration for Play Date Cafe challenge #86.

Stampsmith Happy Birthday challenge

Challenge on The Stampsmith Challenge this week is Happy Birthday.  I thought their coffee gal would make a great Happy Birthday with her big smile but if you ask me I think she is drinking tea.  Mainly because I like tea and not coffee. 

Stampsmith star challenge

The Stampsmith Challenge this week is make someone a Star.  I decided to go with  The Stampsmith image of multiple faces and single out a few of the faces to make them the star.  Lots of layers of cardstock and May Arts ribbon as an accent.

Celebrate Mom - Stampsmith challenge

Getting in just under the wire on this challenge over on The Stampsmith Challenge where the theme is Celebrate mom. I'm celebrating one of T.V. land's funniest moms........I love Lucy! She used to get into such wacky situations....just loved that show when I was a kid. Isn't this a great image! No, I'm not affiliated with The Stampsmith just like thier images. I punched out "Lucy" and put in mom to fit the challenge theme. She is stamped in 'The Ranger Ink Archival coffee ink, one of my old favorite color inks that I have been neglecting lately. Cut out the card and layers with Nestabilities Labels Eight ..... a set I just picked up at craft store with a 50% off coupon.....don't you just love those coupons.

Spring is here!

Here is a card to celebrate SPRING! Another photo image type stamp from The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps .....they are just wonderful stamps. Not affiliated with the company just like thier images. She is stamped with black ink and layered onto black cardstock, embossed white card then onto white note card. One of my ribbon paper flowers (click on tutorial tab for ribbon paper technique) added to celebrate spring.

Spring!

Over on The Stampsmith Challenge the theme this time is Spring! I wanted to show a close up of the card with the embedded layers.....really liking this technique. I used a pretty lady from The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps for this card then added some chiffon type ribbon from May Arts ribbons . Because the ribbon has a shimmery look it doesn't scan well but it is beautiful in person.
