Made up some simple tags for packages.  The kraft tag is white heat embossed with a flower stamp set.

All the die cuts are from a Tim Holtz Sizzix Framelits die set.  The white tags have DSP tag that is smaller.  Added some self sticking gems for dimension, and on a couple a bit of sparkle.

It's that time of year for me to start showing my holiday card designs.  

stamps used:  GinaK designs Tapestry stamp, Altenew co. sayings inside and out

I don't own the tapestry stamp, my friend shared it with me, thank you very much.  It's a beautiful image, and then when you heat emboss it ... it really comes to life.  I multi-color embossed it.  That means I stamped the image with a clear embossing ink pad, next I sprinkled on some silver embossing powder, and gold embossing powder.  Heat embossed it with my heat tool to see the magic of embossing powder bring out the beauty of this image.  I layered the embossed panel onto a gold panel I die cut with a mini scallop rectangle die.  The shine of the gold panel just highlights the multi-colored tapestry panel.  Layered the saying, that I also gold embossed onto oval die cuts over the tapestry panel.  Added some self sticking gems to finish off the card.  Have you ever multi-colored with embossing powder?  Try it you just might like it.

Poinsettia

stamps used:  MFP poinsettia, sayings from various stamp companies

I actually got out my embossing powder!  Haven't done that in years, but had to go back to basics for these holiday cards.

Basic instructions

1. Stamped poinsettia image with clear embossing ink.

2.  Sprinkle gold embossing powder over stamped image. Heat with embossing tool till melted.

3. Make a mask with masking paper or post it note.  Place mask over image.

4.  Add darker color of cardstock over masked image with any blending tool.  Remove mask.  See the image pop!

5.  Stamp and emboss saying.  Adhere to card.  

6.  Adhere stamped layer to gold metallic cardstock, then adhere to base card.

I created slimline and A2 card for this technique.

Today is my last Friday to guest blog for Blue Knight rubber stamps and it has been a pleasure.  I will be featuring the Medical Rescue stamp set in this post. I would like to thank all Medical Rescue and all Medical personal for your service.

card #1 stamps used:  Blue Knight Medical Rescue stamp set

card #1 basic instructions:

1.  stamp medical emblem randomly with grey ink on white layer.

2.  stamp medical person with black ink and heat emboss.  add color to face and glasses with color pencils.

3.  fussy cut out the medical person and mount to background card with foam mounting tape.

4.  adhere stamped layer with medical person to black layer then to white card.

card #2 basic instructions:

1.  stamp medical person with black ink.

2.  die cut with wonky rectangle die.

3.  adhere die cut layer to red layer and then to white card.

4.  stamp medical emblem with red ink and fussy cut.

5.  mount red medical emblem to card with foam mounting tape.

Butterfly cut away

This is a big butterfly that can almost fill a whole A2 card, but this time I decided to add to a layer.  I call this card a cut away card, because that is exactly what I did!  I cut away the bottom of the layer with the die from the stamp set, then mounted it onto another layer that I stamped with the smaller images in the set.  It might be hard to see but I also embossed both butterflies with a new embossing powder called Halo.  When heated it almost looks holographic ... kinda floats there and adds extra colors over the image.  You can click on the image to see a bigger picture.  You can see more cards using this big butterfly with a spotlight technique here, in this post doing the split technique, also here is a shaker card using this same butterfly.

Decided to do a little silver embossing on different color cardstocks.  Very simple slimline cards to show off embossed stamping.  

The holiday is upon us and even though, it is different this year ..... enjoy it your own way.

Trying my hand at watercoloring

I'm still not sold on watercoloring but I keep trying.  This is my attempt of watercoloring on one of my favorite Altenew Build-a-flower Anemone.  

I started out by embossing the outline of the Anemone with a couple of different embossing powders ... a gold and a white embossing powder.  My embossing powders are old but they still seem to work and I'm not a big fan of embossing so I will just use what I have for now.  I picked up the 36 set of Altenew watercolor pan set when it was on sale, so I would have lots of colors to play with on my cards.  I started by wetting the embossed flowers, then laying down a light wash of color to the full flower.  After that I just added a darker color to add shading ... not too sure I accomplished what I set out to do ...... but ..... it is what it is.  For the background I wet all around the card and just did a light wash again of color, then dropped darker color around the edge of the flowers.  

Well, that is my attempt of watercolor for now, I guess I need a lot more practice ... NO ... I know I need to go practice some more.

Trio of cards

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. - Moments of Bliss, Hey Friend, Every single day stamp sets

These three cards were cased from a FB LIVE that Angela from Unity did earlier this week.

For this card I layered the three sections onto a piece of 4"x 5 1/4" white card.  Each panel was stamped with a similar color ink as the cardstock.

This card wast stamped on kraft cardstock with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I added some white highlight with a white color pencil.  The stamped kraft card was adhered to a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" white card then adhered to a kraft note card.

I call this card a Cut up card just my name ... don't know if there is another name floating out there in cyber space.  I think, no I know this mint green card is my favorite.  Anyone know why?  well, if you know me then you do.  teeheeheee  First I stamped on 3 3/4" x 5" mint card with black ink with the saying on the bottom portion of the card.  Next I stamped the flower image twice.  I'm not much for measuring so I just put the card in my cutter and cut three panels.  I will tell you I cut the horizontal line first so I wouldn't cut off any of the saying.  After that I just cut the flower in two panels then taped the three panels onto a 4" x 5 1/4" black layer.  The stamped layer was taped to a mint green note card.  To finish I glued on some sequins.
