SPOTLIGHT TECHNIQUE with a twist
stamps used: Catherine Pooler stamps/dies
Spotlighting technique has been around for years. Seems I have been going back to the old techniques and updating or giving them a little twist.
You can stamp image on white cardstock as I did with the top card or stamp image on color image for a little change. Also you can use circle paper punches or just cut out squares and strips for the spotlights.
Spotlight Instructions:
1. stamp image on cardstock (white or color). this is the base butterfly.
2. stamp same image on different colored cardstocks for cutting/punching out shapes for spotlighting. see pic below.
3. glue punched out color circles on base butterfly. I like to use three punches for one base butterfly but if you want you can do more.
4. when you have the base butterfly looking the way you like ... die cut it out or fussy cut if you don't have a die.
5. on 3 3/4" x 5" layer, stamp a saying on the top right corner. and glue the base butterfly with the spotlight spots onto the card.
6. now get out an embossing folder (any one will do) and emboss the 3 3/4" x 5 (my measurement). adhere this piece to black layer then to note card. that's it you are done.
spotlighting technique with a twist.....
twist #1 - die cutting out the main image with the spotlighting shapes.
twist #2 - embossing the piece with an embossing folder.
