MIUCB #20 no stamping

For the month of December at Mix It Up challenge blog it's easy peasy!  You have the choice of anything goes or NO stamping on your card/project.
Mine is a card using just cardstock and pattern paper.  I found this pattern paper with the peacock in my paper stash and figured she would make a good focal point on my no stamping card.
So go over to Mix It Up Challenge blog to check out what the rest of the design team has done and please join in the fun!
thanks for stopping by and come back again soon.

MIUCB #19 - Aperture/opening

stamps used:  Stampin' Up
This month at Mix It Up Blog we are doing apertures or openings in our cards/projects.  Me, of course it is cards!  If I have a choice I always seem to create cards and so why make this month any different.
cutting dimensions for card:
base card - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
left panel - 1" x 5 1/4"  mount with foam mounting tape
right panel - 2" x 5 1/4"  mount with foam mounting tape
pattern paper - 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"  adhere with double stick tape

Before I mounted the cut pieces I embossed with embossing folders for a little more detail to my cards.  Stamp layers before mounting to card.
Simple but effective cards, at least I think so.  How about you?
Join in at MIUCB this month and show us your creations and remember it's always better with a little stamping on the side.
come back soon.

Mix It Up Challenge #18 - monochrome

Another month has started so that means (for me) a new challenge at Mix It Up Challenge blog or as we like to call it MIUCB.
MIUCB #18 AG (anything goes) and monochrome.

stamps used: Gina K. Designs wreath builder stamp set/stencils

I used a variety of ink pads ... small and regular sized for these cards but I did use one of my favorite colors ..... green!  I just had fun with these little stamps from the wreath builder set and made three different wreaths.
Hope you like these green beauties for MIUCB #18 monochrome this month and don't forget to use a stamp somewhere on your projects.
come back again soon and please let me know what you think in the comments.

MIUCB #17 AG & layering

stamps used:  Unity stamp co.
It's the first of the month so that means MIUCB challenge time.  the challenge for September is AG (anything goes) and layering so that means you can do either or but remember to use a stamp somewhere on your card/project.
Triple-time stamping
white layers:  2 1/8 x 3 1/8, 2 1/8 x 4, 2 1/8 x 4 3/4, 4 x 5 1/4
colored layers:  2 1/4 x 3 1/4, 2 1/4 x 4 1/4, 2 1/4 x 5
these are just the sizes I used but you can make this card in lots of variations that fit onto a note card.
Place all the white layers in whatever configuration you want with re-positional tape then stamp over all the layers.  when I'm done stamping I carefully take the stamped layers off and layer onto colored cardstock.  tip:  make a mark on the back of each stamped layer on the top so you remember how they fit back together.  tape them in order onto note card to complete the card.
thanks for stopping by and please come back again soon.

MIUCB #15 - AG & Mixed media

My first challenge as a design team member of Mix It Up Challenge Blog (MIUCB)
MIUCB #15 - July 2018
AG (anything goes) & mixed media

stamps used:  Brutus/Monroe create a cameo stamp set
stencils used:  dylusions, crafter's workshop
inks:  distress
There is a lot going on in these two cards because it is mixed media and I went to town with different techniques.  The background is a technique called layered backgrounds ..... here is a video showing the technique.  on top of the backgrounds I did a little more mixed media using stencils and embossing paste.  while the embossing paste was still wet I sprinkled glitter on it.  stamped the images and fussy cut then layered onto card and added some stickles for sparkles.  The card with the three heads is on a wobble so when you flick it ... it wobbles and shakes.
Please join in this challenge over at Mix It Up blog ...  you have the whole month of July to enter.
