Mystery - anything goes swap

A lot of wonderful cards for our local card swap this month at Maggie's Place.  The theme was Mystery --- another words anything goes but I took it literally and did a Sherlock Holmes mystery card.  Others did get well, holiday and more.  enjoy a look at our cards and remember click on photo to enlarge and see who did which card.

Inky fun!

Had a lot of ink fun and laughs at class doing resist techniques and one
alcohol ink process.  You can check out the photo where Denise photo bombed Josette!  too funny.

 We used our muscles to buff off all the crayons to show the effect of the white against all the sponged colors on the BIG tags.  let's see there was heat embossed resist, crayon resist, metallic glow resist, Joseph's Coat resist and the bonus alcohol ink polished stone technique.  a lot to do but they got it all done and had their tags with info stickers on the back for reference.    Next class will be different techniques using Perfect Pearls, bleach and more.  it all happens at Maggie's Place ... hope to see you there.

Sept. card swap

This afternoon was our local card swap meeting at Maggie's Place.  Look at all the great cards!  If you click on the pic (to the left) to enlarge you will be able to see who's is who's.  The pic on the right are cards that were left out of one of the earlier months.  hope you enjoy this look at all our cards.

Fun with shaving cream and more

At Big tag technique class last night we had lots of fun playing with shaving cream, wax paper, plastic wrap and rubber bands to make great backgrounds.  think shaving cream was the hit of the night....everyone got creamed and made terrific tags.  next favorite was inking the tag, spraying it
with water then crinkling plastic wrap over the tag...let it dry then peel off the plastic wrap and reveal the cool background.  for me wax paper technique is my pick for favorite because it is just so simple to do and it makes creative backgrounds.  basically you just wad up a ball of wax

paper and use it like a stamp.  press the ball of wax paper on an ink pad then print it to tag and watch the creativeness.  Last technique is another simple one.....rubber bands wrapped around wooden blocks or acrylic block.  you can wrap the rubber bands vertically, horizontal or

even criss-cross them.  press into an ink pad then print on tag.  think everyone had a good time getting inky and creamed!  all this fun happened at Maggie's Place here in Milford.

At Maggie's place this month the theme for our cards was
Congratulations!  what a great bunch of cards!  there are cards with pattern papers, die cuts, shaker, faux postage and lots of stamping.  I'm also showing a couple of Christmas in July cards that were from last month.  if you enlarge the pics you can see the names on each card.

This month at Maggie's Place card swap theme is Christmas in July.  If
you click on photo you can see the names on the cards.  So many great ideas for Christmas cards.  Mine is the velvet stamping....haven't done that technique in years.  Used a bold image from Hot Potatoes.

On Saturday with all the rain we had, I went to our local card swap at Maggie's Place to have
fun swapping cards.  Unfortunately one of the ladies couldn't come because she was sick and another had somewhere else she had to be but other than that it was a good time.  check out all our cards (click on pics to enlarge and see names) that we created for this swap...the theme this month was Spring/Easter.  I decided to go with Spring because I'm so tired of this snow!  hopefully that is done for this season.  enjoy the look at our cards.

February local card swap

 We had another fun card swap get together over at Maggie's Place.  we are a fun and talented bunch of ladies....look at all our cards!  a mixture of die cuts, creative pocket, square quilting and even a waterfall card!  you can see my card here .  I posted it earlier because I had so much fun making a shaker element card.  Our next monthly card swap is coming up soon so I better get my act together and make my cards.  Have them started .... at least have the backgrounds all done just have to stamp them.  did a fun background technique but I'll keep it a secret until I finish them and we get together.  Now I wanted to show you a card from January's card swap that was delivered after the meeting
because Kirsten couldn't attend.  It's a fun musical theme birthday card.  see you here in March to show you our spring/Easter cards.

local card swap

This past Saturday I went to my first local card swap.  It was fun to actually
get instant gratification and not have to wait for my mail carrier to deliver my card swaps.  There is a total of 13 of us so there is a variety of cards....oh yes, this was a card front only card swap with a birthday theme.  If you click on photo to enlarge you can see the names of the card makers...this local group is hosted by maggie's place here in our little city.  Can you pick out my card?  I'm looking forward to next month.
