Coastal faux postage

 Coastal faux postage

I'm back to making faux postage style cards using, Waffle Flower company Postage Collage Coastal stencil set.  There is also a Coastal greetings set that has lots of fun sayings to go along with the faux postage stencil set.
I first did it in multiple ink colors which is the way it is created to do.  BUT, of course, knowing me I had to do it in a monochromatic style
using green inks!  Also had to create a tag/bookmark style one, too.  The lighthouse image was perfect for a tag/bookmark.  Hope you are not tired of seeing faux postage projects from me, because I'm sure there will be more.

Faux postage cards

 Faux postage cards

stamps/stencils/dies: Waffle Flower faux postage die/stamps, GinaKdesigns flower stencils, Altenew bloom with creativity

I am having lots of fun with this postage die because you can use anything inside the spaces.  This time I used Gina K designs flower stencils ..... one is zinnia and the other is sunflower stencils.
These big flower stencils work great with the faux postage die.

More Seraphim wings!

 More Seraphim wings!

This butterfly image is still a favorite of mine.  It is so big that you can do so many different style stampings with it.

stamps/supplies used:  Unity stamp co. Seraphim wings stamp set, Waffle Flower A2 postage die

I die cut Waffle flower co. postage die then stamped the big Seraphim wings (butterfly image) on it.  I did some select color blending over the butterfly just to add colors.  Next I stamped some postage style images, and numbers on the postage die.  Layered the finished stamped postage die onto a butterscotch card layer, then onto a black A2 folded card.  You will see more of these faux postage style cards in the future.

Faux postage

Faux Postage

I do like to make faux postage style cards.  I have been making them off, and on for years.  You can see here in 2012 post  but if you type faux postage in search bar you will see more.

Today we have dies to make the faux postage style cards.

stamps/dies/stencils used:  Waffle Flower snowman postage stencil set

basic instuctions:

1.  die cut the faux postage die.  It die cuts with all the perforated holes.

2.  this stencil set has 2 layers, which makes for an easy card.  place down first stencil, which is the background.  add color with any blending tool handy.  remove 1st stencil.  place second stencil down and add details for snowflake, and snowmen.

3.  Layer faux postage onto card, and you are done.

Here is the same snowman stencil, but this time I cut the faux postage card into single faux postages.

Here is a Christmas one. Waffle Flower co. has different faux postage stencils. Needless to say I will be making more of these cards soon.

Faux postage wild flowers

 Faux postage wild flowers

stamps used:  Waffle Flower postage collage wild flowers

It's that special time of year where we celebrate handmade cards in all their beauty - World Card Making Day 2024! This year, our favorite card making holiday is on October 5th. That is today!

I am enjoying making faux postage with all the Waffle Flower company dies, and stencils.  This one is called Postage collage Wild Flowers.

Here is a close up of one of my cards.  The postage die cuts out the card with all the blocks with holes to create the faux postage.  Next you use the layering stencils to add flowers.  I have some other postage images like cancellation lines that I haven't added to these cards, yet.  I will before I mail them out to family or friends.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back soon.

Moon swap - May: flowers and June: strawberry

MOON SWAP

May is Flower Moon

June is Strawberry Moon

Some friends and I decided in order to keep up with each other and to be able to create together that ..... we would do a Moon swap to send to each other.  Normally we get together for lunch or just to chat but with our times right now that isn't possible, so we are staying together with our art.
Above are my interpretations of the moon themes for the months of May and June.

May is the flower moon.
I stamped a bunch of flowers but first I made a reverse circle mask to blend some color.  Next I stamped the flower image, then punched out the circle.  Actually I punched out a smaller circle and layered it onto a light blue note card.

June is the Strawberry moon.
I hadn't made any faux postage in years so why not make some faux strawberry postage!  I cut out the faux postages with decorative scissors ..... another tool in my stash I haven't used in years!  fun to bring back old techniques and old tools!!!  Anyway, I adhered the faux postage to a tag that I did a little stamping on and blending color along the edges.
Check out more of my faux postage here, here, and in this post.

Come back later in the month to see another Moon creation.
Thanks for stopping by.  come back again soon.

faux postage re-visited

I was rooting through my drawers looking for something (who knows what) and came across my templates for faux postage.....needless to say I forgot what I was looking for and decided to make some faux postage.  besides finding the templates there were a bunch of perforated sticky back faux postage sheets sooooooooo why not finally USE them!  why have I been saving them for so many years!  this is one of three sheets done so far....going to do one more then tear them apart and use them for a local card swap I belong to where we have 20 members which means making 20 cards.  Think I have plenty to make the cards plus a few extra to create cards to send to a few friends/family.
Besides finding all the things to make faux postage I pulled out my stipple brushes to do all the coloring and stamps I haven't used in years.  Those little people are from Zetti...remember that stamp company?   It's fun to re-visit an old idea!  so go look in your draws and see what you find to re-discover!  Might even add making faux postage to an upcoming card class I'm doing in October...what do you think?
