On to my cards for today.  I needed a few extra cards, so I went looking for a one sheet wonder template.  

stamps/supplies used:  SU DSP(pattern paper), Altenew stamp co. sayings stamp set

I found this 6 x 6 one sheet wonder template on pinterest.  One sheet wonder ideas have been around for years, in fact check out this post from a few years ago.

Mini cube holiday cards

 Holiday mini cube cards

This card design is a little involved but once you figure out the ins and outs it becomes easier.  You can put colored cardstock on all the sections or just some of them ... I decided to do some of them. 

Measurements:

white cardstock

cut two at 1 3/4" x 7 1/2"

cut at 3 1/2" x 7 1/2"

cut four at 1 1/4" x 1/4"

color cardstock

cut at 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" (as many as needed)

Start with 8 1/2" x 11" white cardstock cut at 7" x 7 1/2".  With 7 1/2" across the top score at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 5 1/4" and 7".  Turn to 7" side across the top and cut at 1 3/4" and 1 3/4".  You should be left with a piece at 3 1/2"

Use the leftover piece of white cs from 8 1/2" x 11" that you cut first to make the four squares.  Four squares at 1 1/4" x 1 1/4".

Next cut 1/2" strip and then cut two at 2" ... this will create the hinge for the inside saying.

Cut 1 1/2" squares of colored cs to go behind stamped 1 1/4" squares.

To assemble card:

1.  fold all score lines.  tape short end to make cube.  repeat for all white pieces.

2.  adhere smaller cubes to big cube to form the card.  when taping together face all seems to the front. refer to photo

3.  apply glue to bottom section of small cut and tape to bottom of bigger cube.  repeat for second small cube.

4.  adhere all the stamped squares to the cube card.

5.  for hinge:  fold hinge strip in half ... and tear and tape to one side of each of the folded hinges ... on the seam of the center of the inside of the card of the card adhere the folded edge of one of the hinges. refer to the photo.

Then adhere the other folded hinge in the same way ... making sure the folded side of the hinges are facing each other.  adhere the saying to the hinges on the inside of the card.  finish decorating the card to complete it.

I first saw this card on Dawn's stamping thoughts but since then it has been popping up all over.  You can go to you-tube for videos.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family.  I made cards early in the month then forgot so they didn't get sent out till just this Monday.  Hopefully they found their way on time.  I'm thankful all year for my family and friends.  still have those adorable HouseMouse running around that are colored with Prisma color pencils.  the other two designs use decorative pattern papers and punches.

one layer stocking

Yes, I have done a one layer card!  now for anyone who knows me .... I love my layers on cards but thought I would give a one layer card a try.  OMG, that is hard for me but here is another Christmas card with only one layer.  I did reverse masking with the circle, stamped the JFF stamptangle stocking in black ink, did some very easy select water coloring then added some glitter with a wink of stellar pen ... stamp JFF happy holiday with the same black ink and I'm done.  If you make a holiday card this month add it to JFF Christmas in July challenge for your chance to win G.C. from JFF stamps.

Christmas in July

Had fun stamping this cardinal from JFF stamps on these two cards.  top card is an easy peasy card ... first painted on some Ranger raspberry sparkle perfect pearls.  you know when you water down the pp to make a paint.  stamped the cardinal on a separate piece of cardstock, fussy cut him out and adhered to the center of watercolor swishes.  stamped saying on black cardstock, cut it out into a banner and mounted it on the card.  get out one of those corner punches (you know what I'm saying...admit it you have a drawer full of them) and cut out the corners.  adhere to red note card.
bottom card is my favorite...it's a telescope pop out card.  did the same watercolor swishes as the top card, stamped bird over it with Staz-on black ink then added more color with my favorite color medium ... Prisma color pencils to make him pop a bit more.  to make the telescope pop up you just die cut him out with three die cuts (all at the same time)...mount each layer onto card adding an extra layer of foam mounting tape to make each layer a little higher than the next.  stamp saying on black cardstock and cut it out into a banner.  adhere to a red layer then to a white note card.

It's Christmas Eve!

 No snow this year but lots and lots of rain!  guess that means no making snowmen or riding down a hill on a sled.

Dash away, dash away, dash away all!

Just can't seem to get enough of this little image of Santa flying off with his reindeer.  Have you ever come across something in your stash that you don't remember buying.....well.....it happened to me.  Found this pad of lightweight glitter paper.....hey, works for holiday cards.....gives a bit of shine/sparkle to card without glitter all over the place.  Please stop by Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog to get more details on these cards.

Forgetful me

 Yes, I forgot to show these marque cards I made for Christmas.  Only made three because didn't make these till a week or so before the holiday.  Also the photo on the left is the inside of a card but forgot to take photo of it closed.  Think I have a couple more cards to show but will do that tomorrow.

Christmas in April

Yes, I said in April!  LOL!  only reason it's Christmas in April here is because I'm teaching a class featuring only holiday cards.
