Tri-domino box

There is a lot going on here on this little paper mache box.  First it's painted with acrylic copper paint and line with black felt.  The top is the fun part of this box.  I had a piece of left over masking tape background from here .  It's always fun to be able to use something you have around the house in our projects.  Next I sponge a little color with chalk inks for background on tri-dominoes, placed them together and stamped Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images pixie boy on mushroom.  Did some select coloring with alcohol ink pens (I have a couple copic and sharpie) then edged with Krylon gold leafing pen.  Glue them to top of box and viola...done! I think this would make a good gift box for any gift...don't you?

Entering this project in following challenge:
1.  Designs by Lisa Somerville - 3D project (my first time for one of Lisa's challenges)
2.  Crazy 4 Challenges - spring/flowers....
3.  Fashionable Stamping Challenges - make it for a child

Take it Easel!

Yes, another type of easel card...this one is called a Triple Easel card.  Two side easels and one center easel...have to love all the types of easels starting with single easel card and a double easel card.  This triple is done on cream cardstock which for me is a switch because I do love my stark white cardstock but that I would change it up a bit colorwise and all the images are from Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images .  The basic card is a little on the big size so I sized it down to fit in envelopes I have in my stash also used my favorite tools ..... Spellbinders Nestabilities ... they do make life easier and I'm all for simplifying.

Pixie boy shape card

Though I would show you another shape card.  Check out instructions here in a past post where you can see illustrations on how I make shape card.  This one is simple and sweet with Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images little pixie boy.  These card are easy to make with Spellbinders Nestabilities shapes, here I used the scallops.  I do admit this off centered type scallop takes a little patience to match up but other than that it is pretty easy.

Happy Holidays!

Just wanted to stop by to wish everyone a Happy Holidays!  Enjoy the day and all that goes with it.

Here's a fun tag I made using a couple of pattern papers and red glitter paper that I found at the craft store.  Isn't that Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images faerie just precious.  She is colored with Prisma color pencils with Ranger stickles on the wings for fairy dust effect.  Add some May Arts ribbons on tag and you are done.

Faerie Angels

Here is a simple card but sometimes simple is good.  I stamped the two Faerie angels from Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images with red dye base ink then water colored with a water pen and Prisma water color pencils.  Add a little gold glitter glue for sparkle and you're done.

Tag card

I said I would put up a finished tag card with some instructions so here it is.  The front of the tag card is covered with pattern papers like I did here.  To make the tag card:  score about 1/2" down (see illustration) on the back tag.  Next apply double stick tape to the scored section of back tag.  Tape the front stamped tag to the back of the tag.   That's all there is to it.  I know it seems strange to have the back of the card scored but it works.    All the images on this card are from  Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images.  Just wanted to mention I learned this in a class taught by Jennifer McGuire.

12 Days of Tags - day 3

Still keeping up with Tim Holtz 12 Days of Christmas tags here only difference is I'm not always doing Christmas but that's o.k.  My idea is to just take something from his tags like a technique or idea and do it my way and that is what I did here since I didn't have the supplies suggested.  On TH tag he used cut 'n dry felt since I only had foam and that just made a mess with this technique I decided to just multi-color my image of a faerie from Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images with Ranger Ink Distress inks mustard seed, concord and lipstick red.  Next I did some coloring with a water pen using the same inks, added some punched out flowers, leaves and dots with Ranger Ink dimensional pearls.  Threaded May Arts ribbon in the hole on top and done!  I like this tag it's quick and easy......oooops forgot I also sprayed with Perfect Pearls mist.....can't forget that because it just adds a beautiful shine to the whole tag.  Here's the same idea on white cardstock using all the same supplies.  Check out the bottom front of card.  I used cut it out with Sizzix Tim Holtz alterations on the edge brackets/parentheses die.

Faux Quilted Shell card

Over on May Arts blog I got Honorable Mention for this card that I entered in their beach contest.  Thank you to everyone who left comments that they liked my projects.
A fun way to make your card look like it’s quilted! I call this technique Faux Quilting.

All images by Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images

Supplies:
May Arts - #351-01, SD09
Archival ink sepia
Ranger Distress Stain antique linen

Directions:

1.  Colorize #351-01 ribbon with Distress antique linen Stain. Allow to air dry or speed dry with heat tool.  see instructions for colorizing ribbon here:  http://stampingsueinconnecticut.blogspot.com/2011/06/thursday-tutorial-colorized-ribbons.html

2.  Stamp Faerie Song shell stamp on colorized ribbon with Archival sepia ink. Heat set with heat tool.

3.  Wrap colorized stamped ribbon around a piece of cardstock about ¼” smaller. This creates your Faux Quilted piece. Make a total of three of these Faux Quilted pieces.

4.  Tape Faux Quilted pieces to brown cardstock that is approximately ¼” larger.

5.  Tape two of these pieces to the sides of kraft greeting card.

6.  The third Faux Quilted piece will be mounted to the center of card with foam mounting tape.

7.  Tie a piece of brown dotted tan ribbon around card and tie a bow.

8.  Stamp saying (Faerie Song art stamp) with Archival sepia ink. Punch out with oval paper punch.

9.  Punch a second oval out of brown cardstock. Cut it in half lengthwise and tape to the back of saying oval to create a layer.

10.  Tape saying oval to the center of card.

Fantasy Beach

Wouldn't you like to visit my Fantasy Beach?  Had fun creating these two cards using Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images and unique May Arts ribbons.  First check out the seahorse with the lacy light blue ribbon to create the effect of water and texture.  Second card has a fantasy unicorn seahorse swimming in a sea of bubble at least that is what that turquiose ribbon looks like to me.  what do you think?  Oh yeah, I'm back to coloring with my Prisma color pencils...my favorite coloring medium.  Go check out May Arts ribbon blog to see more ideas with ribbon.

Fantasy Dragonfly Faerie bookmark tag

Get out some ribbon and stamp on it!  I've been having fun stamping and colorizing different May Arts ribbons.  On the Fantasy dragonfly (Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images) bookmark tag I stamped the background with Hero Arts Flower Bursts pattern in Colorbox pastel pink chalk ink then stamped Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images saying Fantasy with Ranger Ink Archival ink jet black.  Stamped Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images dragonfly faerie on white cardstock with same jet black ink and colored her in with Prisma color pencils.  Add some Stickles glitter glue and black craft wire for antenas then mount her on bookmark tag.  Glue some more different ribbons from May Arts ribbons on the bottom of bookmark tag to finish.  Go to May Arts blog to see more ideas to use ribbons.

Friday the 13! Oooooooo!

It's Friday the 13th watch out for black cats crossing your path.....walking under ladders......stepping on cracks in sidewalks.....and so on. Didn't have card with cat so I'm adding my own little watch out for.......witches flying overhead! Hey! look there is a cat on the broom not black but grey is close enough for me. Background is the herribone technique, you can find it Herringbone Technique Video - DOstamping with Dawn, it's a fun technique and easier than you would think. The witch is by Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images which I am affiliated only because I'm on her design team and have been for a few years. Heather (owner) is a lovely lady to work with and her designs are the best at least I think so. I used my Prisma color pencils to color in this image.

Lucky me, Published again!

Yeah, lucky me! I was published in this issue of Stamper's Sampler catch up Vol. 15 on page 125. Earlier in the year there was a call for decorating one of their dress templates and I sent in three but only one was chosen for that perticular issue but another one was accepted for this catch up issue. I just got an advance issue in last night's mail. Only disappointment is they really condensed down my instructions, but after it is out in the stores on May 1, 1022, I'll give full details of my card but will tell you that all stamps in my card are from Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images

Moon Faerie

Just wanted to pop on and show a fun card using  Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images .
Her dress is paper pieced with polka dot decorative paper and added ribbon....it's not really ribbon that I would call it but a type of clear plastic on a string.

Faerie Tea

Do like this Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images Tea Faerie.  If you look on the top of my blog you will see another card very similar to this one.....difference is I colored this on in more with my favorite medium.....Prisma color pencils.  I'm back to using my kraft cardstock and coloring with Prisma pencils used to do it all the time years ago when I was into House Mouse images.  Hmmmmm gets me thinking maybe I'll pull those critters out and do something with them....have enough of them.  lol!  Anyway back to this card if you look in the corners you will see where I paper pierced some holes just to add some texture to it.

Ginspiration challenge - photo inspiration

Couldn't resist doing the Gingersnap Creations  photo inspiration because it's black and white which is such a classic look.
Stephanie is challenging you to use this Photo as Your Inspiration!

What I did in my card was to get out Tim Holtz  Sizzix texture fade and rub some Colorbox white pigment ink right on the folder then place a piece of black cardstock in it and run it through my Sizzix Big Kick.  I really like the way it came out ...... better in person but you get the idea.  Next I stamped Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images angel on white cardstock with black ink, cut her out and mounted with foam mounting tape onto the card.  Added some May Arts ribbons silk white ribbon and viola!
