Grid cards

 Grid cards

This week Jen Rzasa #altenewchallengelive with the theme divide and design.

stamps used all by Altenew stamp co.

I did a technique that was popular years ago called grid technique. It's a fun and easy way to divide, or create sections on your cards, and tags.  You can look back  in this post to see grid technique, but if you type grid in search box a lot of posts will come up.  Here's a post showing the grid technique that I did way back in 2009!

Pastel perfection

 Pastel perfection

This week for #Altenewchallengelive with Jen Rzasa the theme is Pastel perfection.

The pastel perfection on all these cards/tag are Pebbles pearlescent chalks in the background. Basically what I did was burnish the chalks with cotton balls on white cardstock.

The two cards below are what I call the Faux grid technique.  You can see more on this technique here, and here with a video.

supplies:   Altenew and Pebbles pearlescent chalks
These chalks can possibly rub off a bit, so I took them outside and sprayed them with a Fixative spray.

Faux Grid cards with video

 Faux Grid cards

This is another fun way to create grid, or Retiform cards.  I wanted to mention, that after I made all my Faux grid cards with the chalks, I sprayed them with a Fixative.  The Fixative just sets the chalks so they don't rub off.  Spray them outside, or in a well ventilated area.

Please, scroll down after you look at the card photos to watch my video.

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. Something Magical, Shine Out of Darkness, Time to Refresh, Sakura

Here is my video that you can watch here or on my you tube channel.

Feel free to type faux grid in the search section in the side bar to see grid cards I did in the past.

Faux grid again

all stamps by Unity stamp co.
I do like this Faux Grid technique as you can see here in this post.  I did three more cards using the sloth stamp set besides a few more of Unity's wonderful stamp images.  The only difference from the Halloween cards I did here is I changed up the color scheme so it is brighter.  you can also see video here or at Sue Wisniewski - YouTube .  hope you enjoy this technique as much as I do.

Day 3 - GIU girl - Faux Grid w/video

all stamps used by Unity stamp co.
supplies:  eraser, ruler, Pebbles art chalks, cotton balls
It's day 3 for my guest spot here at GIU girl week.  I hope you are having as much fun as I am this week.
I call this Faux grid technique because you are creating grids but there are no actual lined grids.  Simply done but applying color with chalks and erasing chalk lines with eraser.  Simple, right? right!  As you can see I went a little crazy with this technique...had a lot of fun creating a bunch of Halloween cards.  If you know me that is my favorite type of cards to make.  Have fun with this technique and if you try it please come back and let me know so I can see what you did.
You can watch my video here in this post or at Sue Wisniewski - YouTube

***Please don't forget to comment each day so you will be included into the drawing for the Unity stamp grab bag prize at the end of the week.  Not one but two winners will be picked!  Please leave a current email in comment so I can contact you if you are a winner.***
