This tag started out just spraying dylusions and letting it drip down the tag but couldn't stop there...so...after it dried I stamped gooseneck but she didn't stamp well because I cut the tag out of canvas paper which has a texture surface.  what to do so I stamped her again on a separate piece of cardstock, colored here with zig clean markers then fussy cut her and adhered her to the tag.  tag was still too plain so I stamped a few flowers for fun with distress oxide ink...still didn't look finished so when all else fails blend more ink...oxide ink that is!  drop on some water to create water spots then stamp saying on separate piece of cardstock...draw lines around saying then fussy cut it and adhere to tag.....viola!  done!  what do you think?

these tags started out as playtime with Ranger distress oxides ink pads. you can see my playtime with these ink pads in this post including a video on Sue Wisniewski - YouTube .  I kept the tags simple to show off the backgrounds and the images......on the purple tag the spider web in the corner was just hand drawn so don't go looking for a stamp....teeheeehee.

Gray not green

stamps: Stampotique

I know it's St. Patrick's Day and I should be showing off some green but it just didn't work out that way for me here.  Check out this card I used embossing powder......not one but three colors!  decided to start using supplies that I have and I have a lot of embossing powders from way back ...... clear to just abut any color of the rainbow and more!  on this card I used the basics ... gold, clear and silver.  found some gold washi tape so cut out a banner and added that but finding it hard to stick to ep ... will have to put some liquid glue under it to make it stick.  stamped Gooseneck girl on some gray cardstock ... added a little color with Prisma color pencils then fussy cut her and mounted to the card.  Oh yeah, the background color under the stamped card is distress oxide background I did.  you can see all about those backgrounds here in this post and there is a video from Sue Wisniewski - YouTube showing how I played with the distress oxides.  time for me to go get my hair cut and do a couple of errands.  have a lucky day! 

scribbles

I went into my stash and pulled out a Perfect Medium brush (pen) that has been laying around for a very long time.  I was surprised it was still wet and usable! yeah!  so I used it on this tag to scribble curly cues (top corners of tag) and lines for the background.  I sprinkles clear ep on it, heat set then blended some, again, unusual colors for me....red and yellow which in some spots turned orange.  I stamped goth girl with brown ink, fussy cut her and mounted her on tag.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to a fun couple!  couldn't resist using this old couple from Rogue Redhead Designs and fun playful saying fromStarvingArtistamps.  I knew this card would be perfect for them because they are such a fun couple and have been together for years and they both have a wonderful sense of humor.  It's an explosion card which I have been having fun with this month.  I will have a tutorial on explosion card in January.

Shimmer, sparkle & shine

 

In person these two cards do shimmer, sparkle and shine.  Audrey Hepburn from The Stampsmith is stamped with versamark ink pad then with cotton balls add Pebbles shimmery chalks with a dabbing technique.  Once all the chalk was covering Audrey I wiped off excess chalk with a soft tissue.  Next misted her with Ranger Perfect Pearls mist, taped her to black and gold cardstock.  Stamped celebrity also from The Stampsmith on white cardstock, punched out with oval punches and taped to top corner of the cards.  Punched a hole and added May Arts glittery gold lacy ribbon.

Noel gift card holder

Over on Stampotique Designers Challenge it's non-traditional so decided to go very non-traditional using black as the main color for this gift card holder.  Hope you like it.  Used images from Maryse Carrier that can be found on Stampotique Originals .  Stamped the images in basic black ink then simply colored with blue watercolor pencils....pulling out soft blue color with a water brush and added May Arts white ribbon for decoration.  Did the same pocket gift card holder as in  this post .  As the saying goes easy peasy.

More challenges

I'm on a roll here with challenges today so over on Stampotique Designers Challenge it's time to celebrate birthdays.  Since this is a Stampotique Originals only challenge I decided to go a little unconventional.  I used my goth gal on a wrinkle free background I had laying around.  Added a bit of color with my Prisma color pencils.  Then stamped head with hearts on another background piece from my stash and again add color with my Prismas then cut out with scallop punch.  Mounted her on top of goth gal head with foam mounting tape just for fun.  Computer generated the saying Happy Unbirthday to you and taped to card.  what do you think?
Over at Gingersnap Creations they are celebrating Gal Pals so I thought why not.....this card fits that catergory, too.  I mean I like to send out all types of birthday cards to my gal pals or friends and I would definately send this one. 

Black & White with hint of color

 Had some fun with this card using Stampotique Originals girl with hearts over the Tim Holtz Sizzix alterations playing card texture fade embossing folder plus two others of the Sizzix texture fade embossing folders.  This is my entry for Stampotique Designers Challenge black and white with hint of color.  Oh yes, the hint of color is Prisma color pencils....used two different colors and blended with white pencil.

Stampotique bookmark

Here is my folded bookmark using Stampotique Originals dragonfly by Maryse Carrier and swirl.  Had fun swiping on Ranger Ink Distress Stains for the background color.....my new favorite product.  Stamped dragonfly then blended matching Distress inks on the dragonfly, cut it out and mounted on bookmark.  This is a folded shaped bookmark, add a magnet inside to hold your place in book or magazine.  Did I mention this if for Stampotique Designers Challenge . 

Flower on her head

Like that title? LOL!  the theme over on Stampotique Designers Challenge it's flowers sooooo that's the reason for flower on her head.  Had fun with this one first I used two  Stampotique Originals images .... yes, one of my goth Gooseneck gal and head with hearts but I changed the hearts to a flower.  Colored her in with Prisma color pencils.  Made three cardstock color blocks.....layered onto black cardstock then ran it through  Sizzix Big Kick with Tim Holtz swirl texture fade embossing folder, layered everything onto purple card. 

Scraps, scraps and more scraps

Over on  Stampotique Designers Challenge  -   the challenge is to create something out of scraps, well if you could see my table it is full of scraps and die cuts that were not used.  So this challenge was a perfect fit for me.  I sure hope you are not tired of seeing this goth girl from Stampotique Originals.  I only have two of their goth girls and I do like them.  Unfortunately they are hard to find around here....what I do wish is that Stampotique would sell them in unmounteds!  Like everyone else money is tight so I have to use what I have on hand so for me that is my goth girl here and girl with heart purse.
 Check out my tag it is full of scraps starting with cardstock that I used to make the tag, strips of decorative papers, glassine paper that I ran through Sizzix dots embossing folder and of course pieces of May Arts ribbons that I had colorized with Ranger Ink Distress Stains antique linen.  There are three ribbons on this tag ..... can you find all three?

Stampotique Clean and Simple

Clean and simple is the challenge over on Stampotique Designers Challenge this week.  I made a simple brown tag using the girl with heart purse....she will make a nice bookmark.  Added some May Arts ribbon to finish off my bookmark tag.

Recycle

Stampotique Designers Challenge this week is to recycle so I recycled a piece of plastic from packaging.  First I added some color to it with 'The Ranger Ink Alcohol inks then ran it through Sizzix Big Kick with Tim Holtz texture fade embossing folder. Stamped one of Stampotique gothic gals mounted it over the embossing folder and May Arts ribbon.  Wanted to say this is not my original idea if I'm not mistaken it was on one of Tim Holtz christmas tags from last year.  Here's a link http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/12/12-tags-of-christmasday-10.html  Just thought you would appreciate the instructions. 

Newsprint/Old Book Pages

Here is my entry for Stampotique Designer's Blog newsprint/old book pages challenge. Behind goth girl is a page from an old dictionary and believe me those pages are very fragile. If you look close you can see the definition for goth over on the left. I used Ranger Ink Distress inks to color the background to give it that aged look. What I did for this card is layer all the pieces onto card ..... used Distress inks with blending tool to age it then ran it through Sizzix Big Kick with Tim Holtz embossing folder. Think I read online this technique is called Embedding layers. I really like this background technique.

Gingersnaps Redhead Challenge - Crowns

Had a little fun with Gingersnap Creations Redhead challenge theme of Crowns.  Couldn't resist using one of Stampotique Originals gothic girls.

The crown on her head is a paper punch.....the big crown and saying embossed in gold is from  Starving Artiststamps new rubber stamp set.

Faux Barnwood

Believe it or not I have been having a lot of fun creating  Faux Barnwood .  Here is another card using another of those great girls from Stampotique Originals .  Used another fun saying this one from Inky Antics.  For the ribbon this time first I took the SK02 May Arts ribbons wide ribbon and pleated it across the card next cut a separate piece of the same ribbon and tied a bow and glued it on top of the pleats.  Check out some more of the pieces I have left from doing the Faux Barnwood technique.

Stampotique challenge - Faux Barnwood technique

Over on Stampotique Designer's Blog the challenge is to use http://www.techniquejunkies.com/Faux_Barnwood_Tutorial.pdf  technique.  I didn't think I would like this background but once I got started I couldn't stop making it.  I did change it around a little to fit the supplies I had on hand......instead of brown acrylic paint I used green and instead of white acrylic paint I used barely pink acrylic paint.  The other thing I changed was the brand of glue....in the directions they used elmer's glue but I used Aleene's Tacky glue which worked very well for me.
I stamped the girl on light pink cardstock then stamped her four more times on decorative paper.  Cut out the dress once completely then three more times just cutting out the bottom of the dress.  Made the dress into a formal gown with ruffles then added the saying What was I thinking?  Added some wide black silk  May Arts ribbons . 

Couple of birthday cards

Here are a couple of birthday cards I made to add to my stash of cards.  I have a few birthdays in January so these will come in handy.  Used two gals from  Stampotique Originals   they have some great people.  These are just two of the girls, I love them.  I grant you they aren't ordinary and that is why I love them. First I stamped girl on decorative paper then colored in with Prisma color pencils.   I punched out the edge of the cards with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations on the edge Brackets die.
