Getting in on this challenge just under the wire.
Mixed Media Monday challenge is left overs so I look at my table with all my scraps and decided to finally try the herribone background technique I've been seeing around. Watch out this technique can become additive.

Created by Hand - Freebie

This week at Created Byhand Challenge-tues. challenge the theme is free .... do what you want.
I created this birthday card that will go out to a friend this week.
Mermaids by Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images
For the background I did what I call Fuzzy Colors.  Below are basic instructions:

Fuzzy Colors
Created by Sue Wisniewski
July 2006

This is a fun & colorful background that can be adapted with any inks.

Supplies:
Stipple brushes – variety of sizes
Inks of your choice

To create Fuzzy Colors background:

Stipple colors onto a full sheet of 8 ½ x 11 cardstock, this way you can cut it up when done to make up to four cards or just cut it up for any project.

The first color is usually my main color another words if you start with red it is going to be seen the most. Stipple your next color randomly on the cardstock leaving spaces for other colors. Continue stippling colors. Stipple in the Brilliance Galaxy Gold to just highlight or any metallic color ink pad. The more you stipple the fuzzier your colors will look. Stippling the darkest color last to give all the colors depth.
Now you can cut up your sheet of Fuzzy Colors to use in all your projects.

enjoy!
