Thursday Tutorial - Tile coaster

There is a challenge going on over on Gingersnap GC66: Spicy Supply Challenge - Paint Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply Challenge. Following on from our fabulous Famous Painters or Paintings theme challenge, this month we'd like you to get messy with: P A I N T so here is my entry:

Had fun playing with Starving Artiststamps (not affiliated just like images) skunk & cityscape.  First I gessoed one of those uncoated 4" tiles from Loew's or Home Depot to give the tile a smooth finish to stamp.  Next I added stripes of color with a sponge and Distress inks broken china, mustard seed & wild honey where the spray can would be so it would look like paint spraying out.  I stamped the skunk with Adirondack acrylic paint dabber pitch black.  I do love using those paint dabbers just make it so easy to paint.  Anyway back to tile......I zapped the skunk with heat tool to dry then masked him and stamped the cityscape with same paint dabber.  Under the skunk I sponge on some Vintage photo Distress Ink to make it look like dirt after that I spritzed the tile with gold perfect pearl spray.  A homemade type of spray.  I hear that Ranger Ink (again not affiliated just like products) is coming out with Perfect Pearl Mists later this year.  Can't wait.  Let this all dry then take it outside and spray with Krylon clear gloss finish that you can get at any craft store.  Allow to dry then pour on some Diamond Glaze to give it a clear glass like finish.  Allow this to dry over night then glue felt to back and you are done.  Since I had all the stamps out I made up a card to match.
enjoy!

What a fabulous idea - painting on a tile. Love it. And the card to match is just perfect.
