Faces!

I watched Dina Wakley LIVE on Facebook yesterday where she did a demo on making her faces.  She challenged watchers to follow along ... so I did!  first challenge was to draw a face fast without thinking and number it #1.  I did.  then she gave a little more instructions about outlining a face and how to map out a face.  Numbered that one #2.  Last one numbered #3 was a start to finish with some shading.  She said we would get better and to keep practicing.  I think I need a lot of PRACTICE!  If you look at #1 there are some eyes, lips and noses we also did in between making faces #2 and #3.  I will save these in my art journal for fun and every once in a while practice making faces.  Hopefully, I will improve.
Thanks for stopping by.  come back again soon

I am a limited edition

This is a limited edition!  don't think I could draw her again as good as it came out.  I can't believe how my faces are evolving as I do a new one.....each one is my favorite at the time I draw her and this one is no exception.  I sketched her then colored her with pastel pencils....gotta love pastel pencils they are so forgiving.  since this is in my art journal.....the background is dylusions ink sprays and if you look close you can see the stencils I used on this page.  I do like the way the figure stencil is just a shadow in the background.....worked out better then I expected.

shy face

Another attempt of me drawing a face and painting but again I painted over dylusions ink which react to water/liquid.  But I do like this gal with her closed eyes and housed on her head.  I don't know why I stamped houses coming out of her head ..... maybe just because the stamps were in front of me.

my faces

I'm going hand drawn face crazy!  Not the best but "they" say will improve over time.  I hope so.  These faces are o.k. for sketches but still have a lot to learn about painting!  but did paint the ones to the right on top of dylusions inks which react to water so the paint blended with the ink that was already on the page.  more faces to come.

my first face

I drew my first face!  not too bad for my first attempt.  I watched a video by Dina Wakley who made it look easy so I decided to try it.  not too shabby.  I like it which surprises me.  Dina shows and gives a few easy suggestions to draw a face and that is what I did.  I drew this face in my large dylusions journal over a page that I had done with Dyan's sprays and stencils.  keep in mind this is just a pencil sketched drawing.  I think I will be doing this again.
