Faux Grid cards with video

 Faux Grid cards

This is another fun way to create grid, or Retiform cards.  I wanted to mention, that after I made all my Faux grid cards with the chalks, I sprayed them with a Fixative.  The Fixative just sets the chalks so they don't rub off.  Spray them outside, or in a well ventilated area.

Please, scroll down after you look at the card photos to watch my video.

Here is my video that you can watch here or on my you tube channel.

Feel free to type faux grid in the search section in the side bar to see grid cards I did in the past.

Retiform cards/tags with a video

 Retiform cards/tags

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. Other side of Fear, Spirit of mermaid, Happy, Spark, Every single day, You make everything so beautiful,You can do It, Keep Wild

This is an old technique with a couple of twists along the way.  Basically Retiform is composed of crossing lines.  On my tags, I used a grey ink for the crossing lines, and different blues for the images.  Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see several more card samples using this technique.

Here is a video for you to watch here or you can go to my you tube channel to see this video and more.

Here are the card samples I mentioned for you to see.

Retiform birthday card

 Retiform birthday card

When I first learned how to make this card back in the year 1999 or 2000, we just called them grid cards.  A couple of years later the name was changed to Retiform. The meaning of RETIFORM is composed of crossing lines and interstices.

stamps used:  Stampin' Up Whale done

For this style card you can use any stamp images, whether they are solid or line images.  It doesn't even matter if the images don't normally go together.

For my cards, though, all the images are from one stamp set.  No, I'm wrong the saying is from a company that has unfortunately gone out of business.
The simplest way I can describe how to do this technique is block off section with post it notes, then sponge on color, just at the edge of the post it note.  Remove the post it note to reveal the section.
I have a couple of old videos on this technique that you can look back on at Sue's YouTube from years ago.  I think I will do a new video on this technique soon.  Subscribe and hit the bell on my you tube channel so you get notified when I make a new video.
