I'm back to making faux postage style cards using, Waffle Flower company Postage Collage Coastal stencil set.  There is also a Coastal greetings set that has lots of fun sayings to go along with the faux postage stencil set.  

I first did it in multiple ink colors which is the way it is created to do.  BUT, of course, knowing me I had to do it in a monochromatic style 

using green inks!  Also had to create a tag/bookmark style one, too.  The lighthouse image was perfect for a tag/bookmark.  Hope you are not tired of seeing faux postage projects from me, because I'm sure there will be more.

Strong Oak

I have been enjoying using lots of different stencils on my cards, tags and more.  I started out making these samples for Jen Rzasa #Altenewchallengelive ... Tuesday challenge for Altenew stamp company.  The thing with this challenge you can use any supplies you have on hand ... I just happen to have a good amount of Altenew products.  First up is shades of brown.

supplies used:  Altenew Stencil Art: strong oak stencil set, hello die set

Next up is a card and tag using the shades of purple.

I couldn't help myself making more and more of these cards using the same strong oak stencil set in different colors.  I kept going with different colors, so why not do green.  For the green and orange cards also used Halftone Hello stamp set plus Hello and Hugs stamp set.  

One more set of two cards, and these are shades of orange. 

 What do you think ... did I use enough different "hello's" and colors to fit into the criterium for this challenge? This strong oak stencil set is going to be a favorite of mine.

March Monochromatic

March is monochromatic for my local card group. I just had fun doing what I call stamp collaging.  I wanted to do a brown vintage look, and I think it works.  I have been in a monochromatic mood lately you can see more here, and way back here.  If you type monochromatic in the search box you can see even more.

Saw this technique done by Unity's Whitney on a LIVE she did last week.

stamps/stencils/dies used: Unity stamp co.

For my green cards I used Catherine Pooler  wintergreen, In the Park, and Sea Glass.  I have to admit CP inks are my go to inks lately...they have actually been my favorite inks for a few years now.

All the samples I'm showing today were done with Unity stamp co. Tulip stamp/stencil bundle. 

The stencil actually fits a slimline card, but I decided to make my cards A2 size.  A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded card) cards are my preferred size.  

It is fun to take a light or pastel color cardstock, then color over the stencil with 3 tones of the same color.   In this case I used a kraft color cardstock with the tulip layering stencil.  The inks I used for the brown cards, if I remember correctly, are SU crumb cake, CP sand castle, and over coffee.  I really like the way the brown cards came out.

I thought you would like to see the inside of the card just for fun.  Let's see the orange inks are CP Apricot, orange twist, and Bellini. The stencil was done over a light melon color cardstock, even though it looks more salmon color here.  Trust me it is a light melon color.

This is a fun technique, and I just might make some more.
