Mixed Media Morsel altered playing card

Mixed Media Morsel Altered playing card

The last one of the year!  Yes, I made it through a whole year making these MMM altered playing cards.

For this one I stamped the pocket watch (old stamp on wood), which I placed into the corner angled pocket.  See the theme here ... time and pockets.  I found some old blue denim looking "fabric" paper, so I used it for the background, and the pocket.

I enjoyed doing this mixed media project all year.

Mixed Media Morsels #11

 Mixed Media Morsels #11

Happy New Year's Eve!

Ringing in the new year with another MMM altered playing card. One more to go, then this year challenge will be over.

Catching up with MMM (mixed media morsels) altered card challenge. This one is for November 2022.  I found two doors in my collection of rubber stamps, so I got them out.  Painted with fingers around the edge of the door.  This altered card is very simple, but I finally got it done ... and am all caught up now.  There is only one more month to go.  When the hostess puts up the prompts I will get it done.

Mixed Media Morsels #10

Mixed Media Morsels #10

As usual I'm late in showing my MMM (mixed media morsels) playing card. This one is for October ... you can click on picture to see all the details.  I did go a little crazy with the splatters.  I splattered some perfect pearls spray, white paint, and wink of stella pens.  Did have fun with the whimsical bugs! The big ART is from a package ... don't remember what it was, but it's from a package.  So it counts. teehee Hope you like it.

Mixed Media Morsels #9

 MMM #9

Almost through with MMM altered playing card journey.  Just a few more months to go.

This month's theme is messy ... not too hard to do that.  I ink smooshed the background, then add ripped paper.  Stamped the numbers, and adhered the amazing things sticker.  Fabric ... well ... I took artist license, and used burlap ribbon.  My scribbles, to me was more like doodling, but ..... artist license again.  Sometimes the prompts are a bit of a challenge, but with artist license, it all works out.

MMM #8

 MMM #8

In case you don't remember what MMM stands for it is Mixed Media Morsels.  It's a Facebook group, where each month we alter a playing card.

You click on the photo to enlarge it.  This month the theme was childhood, so I found a clip art of Jiffy pop!  Do you remember Jiffy pop?  It was fun to watch it get bigger and bigger as you shook it over the fire.  Yes, I said fire because we had a gas stove.  The other things were use a punched hole or shape, I got out a ribbon punch I have had for years.  Other ideas were use a map, dots and music.  I found some tissue papers in my stash that work for the map, and music.  The dots are on the ribbon.  I had fun with this month's MMM.  Hope you like it, too.

Mixed Media Morsels #7

 Mixed Media Morsels #7

I went simple with this month's MMM altered playing card... but ... I like it!  I had fun stamping out the robot, which I forgot I had in my stash.  I colored him in with color pencils, then popped him up on flower pattern paper.  Hope you like this as much as I do.

MMM altered cards #5

 Mixed Media Morsels #5

I went a little weird for my MMM #5 because, I found this picture in my collection of collage papers.  I have started to use them up since I have had them for many years!  It's time to bring them out to play.  Vintage theme was easy I just added a piece of my tea dyed paper and edged everything with distress vintage photo ink.  Found a corrugated tag in my stash and done.

Mixed Media Morsels #4

 Mixed Media Morsels #4

For my #4 MMM altered playing card, I kept it simple with some old stamps from my collection.  The little clusters of grapes is a Hot Potato stamp ... and yes, it is so old it is on wood.  The flower is from Endless Creations, which is also a wood mounted stamp.  It's hard to see in this picture but I did watercolor the three flowers ... that was the technique for this card.  Others things to do were use a security envelope ... done ... and a tag ... done ... add fruit/vegetable ... done.

If you want to see my first three MMM altered playing cards, just type MMM playing cards or Mixed Media Morsels in the search box.

Mixed Media Morsels - March

Mixed Media Morsels altered cards (MMM)

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

My MMM altered card for March 2022 is finally done.  Took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do for this month.  As you can read in the description, the main theme was sweet, that was tough for me.  I ended up using two napkins (stars and flowers), then it hit me when I glued on the napkin flower ... a sweet hummingbird gathering his nectar.

You can see past MMM altered cards for January 2022 here, and February 2022 here.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back soon.

Mixed Media Morsels altered playing card #2

Mixed Media Morsels altered playing cards #2

This the second Mixed Media Morsels altered playing card or MMM for short.  You can click on the pic to make it larger to see all the prompts for this month's card. I used SU Whale Done stamp set and punch.  For me this is just a fun challenge, that is only once a month, so it is not overwhelming.
The group that is doing this challenge is Mixed Media Morsels on facebook.  You can find all the details there if you are interested in joining.
Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon.
