lions, tigers and bears, oh my!

More from the Washington DC zoo.  See the red monkey over on the left...he reminds of that animated movie called Madagascar.  The lions were just hanging out taking it easy.  That gorilla just didn't want to be photographed.  He turned his back on all of us and walked away.  If you look behind me you should see an elephant.  It was a nice day at the zoo seeing all the animals.  It was good to see them in more of an outdoor setting instead of cages.  I don't like zoos with the wild animals stuffed into cages.

A day at the zoo

Yes, we had a full day at the Washington DC zoo seeing then pandas, cheetah, elephants and more. We got to see the orangutan cross on the ropes above us, that was fun to see. 
We have an old camera so close-up isn't that good but it still works so ...if it isn't broken don't fix it as the saying goes.  It's a zoo so of course we saw elephant but didn't expect to have their dun explained. lol! There is my S-I-L and brother listening to the volunteer telling them all about it.
Too funny!  I think that's enough information for now. more on zoo later.

Home again with more pics

Back this morning with more photos from Washington D.C. at the museums. 
Over on the left is dino head statue/sculpture in front of museum and to the right is the front of a plane just hanging out of the wall. 

All the planes in the museum are fabulous! Check out the skeleton of a this turtle hanging on the wall in front of a great mural.  In the museum don't forget to look up because there are lots of things hanging from the ceiling. Enough for now.  I'll post pictures from zoo another day.  tomorrow will get back to showing you stamping. 

Home again...home again!

Yeah, we are back home!  it's always fun to go away for a week but it is good to return home.  We met up with my brother and his family in Washington D.C.  we lucked out with the weather....it was beautiful.  did a lot of

walking!!!!!! visiting all the museums from 10 a.m. in the
morning till 6 p.m. on wednesday!  There is everybody (except me-I'm taking picture) in front of capitol.  Next picture is a metal tree!!! yes, it's metal, too cool!  Over to the left is our budding photographer! she loves to take photos mostly of flowers and believe it or not turtles...she really likes turtles.  On the right is a far off photo of Washington monument...can't see it in this photo but there are men on the top working on it...you wouldn't catch me that high on the outside of anything.  lol! 

 Check out Dorothy's shoes to the left and to the right the Spirit of St. Louis plane.
