HoneyPop card

stamps used:  Inky Antics Bumblebee HoneyPop

This type of 3D card is fun, and easy to create with the clear stamp set for easy placement of the images.  All you need is a sharp pair of scissors to cut out the honeycomb paper to create the pop up piece inside the card.

A little birdie told me.....

 I just like this saying unfortunately it belongs to a friend of mine but she let me borrow it so I could make a bunch of these cards.  I made a bunch of them for a local card swap I belong to but I did make a couple extra to send out to friends.  the little bird is colored with my favorite coloring medium ... Prisma color pencils.  inside the card is a honeycomb cupcake.  honeycomb paper and stamps are Inky Antics.

A Whale of a hello

First I'd like to say thank you to Jackie of Inky Antics for this stamp set I won in drawing over on Inky Antics blog.  This set is so much fun to play with the honeycomb pop up paper....just makes card come to life. I admit I cased this card directly from the package.  there is no saying inside this card because I made three of them for birthday and thank you cards.  My niece will be receiving one soon for her birthday.  The tag was my idea, I sent it to Jackie of Inky Antics as a thank you.  did you notice the waves on the bottom of card and tag?  it is the left over honey pop paper stretched out and taped to card/tag.

Christmas!

Christmas is almost here....hope you all have your stockings hung, trees decorated and all the lights are lit.

Snowman fun

This is such a fun card to make!  It's an Inky Antics snowman  that I used on this card.  The front of this card is what I call a build a snowman because that is just what you do .... stamp different parts of the snowman to complete him.  Only negative point I have with this stamp set is they over looked the carrot nose so I had to draw it myself.  Oh well, nobody's perfect.  I'm not showing the inside of this card, yet because I haven't sent it out to my friend and I want her to be a little surprised.  Did some easy peasy coloring with watercolor pencils.  Added ribbon to layer of card and tied piece of ribbon in knot to make a faux scarf for my snowman.  enjoy!

12 Tags of 2012 - March

Here is my entry for Tim Holtz blog 12 Tags of 2012.  This one was fun to make and it's only the second one.  I used the bird from Sizzix alterations birdcage/bird die.  Went into my stash of leftover pattern papers (love when can use scraps) to make the mosaic pieces.  Stamp my foam stamp I made from the actual die and stamped the background with woodgrain stamp.  Added some color with Ranger blending tool and Distress inks.  Saying is from Inky Antics Rubber Stamps .

Over on Tim Holtz blog he's doing 12 tag of 2012 instead of christmas from now on so that means doing one tag a month instead of one a day! Yeah!  This makes it easier to participate. 
The fun part of this tag/card is using the honeycomb paper from Inky Antics Rubber Stamps which I really like playing with since this product came on the market.  What was done here was die cut a Sizzix heart from honeycomb paper.  You only use half at a time so you get two honeycomb hearts from one.  Glued heart to grunge paper heart with Tim Holtz tissue paper behind it.  On the tag stamp Stamper's Anon. diamond image with Ranger pearl paint dabber, let dry then with blending tool add three red Ranger distress inks.  buff card to remove any inks from painted diamonds.  cut out x o x from Tim Holtz idea-ology seasonal paper stash and glue to card.  die cut Sizzix alterations brackets/parentheses on the edge out of red glitter paper (found at craft store) and glue to bottom of tag card.  Doing the resist stamping with paint dabbers is one of my favorite go to techniques since I saw it on  Tim Holtz blog .

Happy Birthday to my friend!

Not only is it Thanksgiving this week here in U.S.A. but it's my friends' birthday!  so please wish her a BIG Happy Birthday!  would also like you to know that she is the one who got me hooked on Inky Antics Rubber Stamps honeycomb cards.  So I had to make an extra special one for her with all the trimmings.  On the outside of the card I stamped and colored the sweet bird with P R I S M A C O L O R color pencils as all the other images.  I think I over did it with Ranger Ink Stickles glitter glue for the frosting but hey, can't have too much frosting.  All the pattern papers are from Memorybox Stamps and Scrapbooking and ribbon is Stampin' Up.  Let's see did I forget anything on the front of the card.....oh yes, big dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities and label is punch from EK Success.  Now onto the inside of the card.......for the honeycomb cupcake I used orange for the frosting and brown for the paper lining of the cupcake.  Did these colors to have fall colors.  Check out the saying I changed it just a little by inking the stamp then removing ink from certain letters so I could make the saying read, "with cherries on top!"  clever, huh?!?

More Witches

 

Yes, I can't help myself I did four more honey comb witches....two green and two orange.  In order to see the honey comb cauldren look here .  The saying and witch is by Inky Antics Rubber Stamps and the papers are from Memorybox Stamps .  Of course the coloring for the witches are done with
 P R I S M A C O L O R color pencils but did add some Ranger Ink Stickles glitter glue on the band of the hat plus some ribbon from SU.

Another Halloween honey pop & stripe challenge

  Over on Art Impressions Stamps-challenge blog it's stripes so thought this would work into thier challange.  Still making Inky Antics Rubber Stamps honey pop cards.  They are so much fun!  they take a little time to cut out the honey pop paper --- my tip: use a sharp pair of scissors.  See the witch she is colored in with ...... I'm sure you know if you read my blog on a regular basis......... P R I S M A C O L O R pencils.
All the images are by Inky Antics except for the little web from PSX an old company that unfortunately went out of business years ago.  The stripes for this challenge is the paper from Memorybox Stamps and that great ribbon that looks like black webbing is from May Arts a local ribbon company here in Connecticut......just wish they had a store.  They only sell wholesale.  Wouldn't it be great to have a store just with all thier ribbons!!!  Hey May Arts --- what do you think?  or maybe you could do like another company warehouse does.....a sale one day a year where they open up to the public.  wouldn't that be great!

Halloween is coming.....

Can't believe I just started making Halloween cards!  Got out my Inky Antics Rubber Stamps honey comb stamps and paper.  What fun!  Takes a bit of time to make these cards but they are worth it.  My husband even asked if I made one for him...lol!  Here is the frog honey comb card inside and out.  Only image not Inky Antics is the little web that is an old stamp by PSX which I think has gone out of business years ago.  All the coloring is done with  P R I S M A C O L O R   color pencils as you know is my favorite coloring medium.  Here's something you might not know about me is that I hoard papers.  I've decided to start using it.....why am I saving it!!!!  Needless to say I used some of my Memorybox Stamps and Scrapbooking papers.....yeah for me!  Also used May Arts ribbon for a fun embellishment.

Caterpillar

I am having so much fun with these Inky Antics Rubber Stamps HoneyPOP cards! this one is all about the caterpillar. lol!  the close up is to show I added Diamond Glaze to his eyeglasses.  hope you can see it...it really makes it look like eyeglass lens. The caterpillar is colored with Prisma color pencils - my favorite coloring medium.

If friends were flowers.....

....I'd pick you!   Having some fun with Inky Antics Rubber Stamps Pretty Posey Honey Pop stamp set.  On this card I colored pretty posey with Prisma color pencils and added some Tim Holtz tissue paper along the spine of the card.  Inside did straight forward flower from the stamp set but I stamped the flower a little out of sinc with the honeypop soooooooo (I like to say, "there are no mistakes in stamping just happy accidents!") I improvised by drawing an extra petal on the flower with my fine point sharpie pen.  Think it worked....don't you?

Card #2 with striped decorative paper background again colored in with Prima color pencils, my favorite coloring medium.  Inside I wanted to try something different with the honeycomb paper so I die cut it with Tim Holtz Sizzix tattered flowers die.  Worked great but forgot to only cut it out halfway so instead of it looking like a flower it looks like an umbrella.  lol!  But fun way to use honeycomb paper.  Did another card only placing the honeycomb paper over half of the metal die cut and it worked great.

Inky Antics HoneyPops!

Have you tried Inky Antics HoneyPops, yet?  They are so much fun once you get the hang of them.  For my card I also used Tim Holtz Sizzix tattered flowers alterations die for the inside "pop"!  The trick is to only cut out half of the flower die.  Remember when you were a kid and cut out paper flowers by folding the paper in half and cutting out a half circle ...... when unfolded it formed a heart!  Same idea when doing the die with Honeycomb paper.  Used Prisma watercolor pencils to coloring in the cute little girl (just a fan not affiliated) from Inky Antics Rubber Stamps Pretty Posey HoneyPop set.
