Here are my samples using embossing paste. my favorite is the one with the mosaic triangle stencil where first you blend colors on card...used distress inks - seedless preserves, dusty concord and shaded lilac. But did have fun with the circle stencil ... shaded with all green inks. the last one is just the embossing paste swiped on card...let it dry then blended a couple of colors...distress seedless preserves and spiced marmalade....looks like a fire.

Feeling a bit dense this a.m. Do you put the embossing paste on the card, let dry and then color? Using a stipple brush? Sponges? Or do you dye the embossing paste and then put on the card?
The three samples with the designs...they are stencils. you put the paste through the stencils. for the one that I think looks like fire...just swipe the paste on card and when it's dry use a sponge to blend on some color. hope this clarifies it for you. stamping sue
