The Beach Life

May not look like it but there are a few techniques going on in this card.  First I did what I call "acrylic block color".....get out one of your acrylic blocks press different color ink pads on it.  for this one I used Ranger Distress inks peeled paint, forest and mustard seed then I spritz it with Perfect Pearls mist.  Next is easy just press the inked block to the paper and see the fun colors especially if you had spritz with PP mist because that just adds so much sparkle and shine.  Anyway I did that four times on my card.  Stamped boat scene with black archival jet black ink over the blocks of color.  Embossed birds with Colorbox black embossing ink and heat embossed them onto card.  Heat embossed the shells on a piece of cardstock I had colored with oil pastels that just matched the color scheme of this card perfectly.....go figure it all worked out.  Cut out the shells and mount with pop dots in the bottom corner of the card.  Add some gold sparkly brads and viola.....a card is done.
All stamps and cardstock are from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company

A stunning piece of artwork Sue and just perfect for our theme.

So nice to see you like using the block technique as well. I introduced it to some new crafters in class last year and the ladies thought I had lost the plot until they saw the results they achieved, then they were hooked.

Thanks you so much for joining us at Craft a Scene challenge this month.
