Polish Stone technique blast from the past

Blast from the past - Polish Stone technique.  Think the first time I learned this technique was from Suze Weinberg's book The Art of Rubber Stamping (published 2000-still a good resource book).  This was before Ranger developed their Adirondack Alcohol inks...back then we used Studio 2 ink it's and Pantone Tria and homemade applicator by that I mean a piece of scrap wood from my dad's workshop with a piece of velcro loop tape.  Now it is all so much better with Ranger Adirondack AI's (love those colors) and their applicator with the handle.  My card uses a variety of AI's including a couple of the mixatives, Tim Holtz Seamless Experience cling stamp set and some beautiful May Arts wide black silk ribbon.

  1. Hi, Sue,
Did you know you can also do polished stone with dye inks and rubbing alcohol? And you can use a metallic ink instead of the Krylon pen.

  2. That's right, Petti. thank you for reminding me. sometimes it is fun to do old techniques just to remember how we did them before all the improvements.
