I fell in love with jellyfish, when I visited the Mystic Aquarium a couple of years ago.

basic instructions:

For the jellyfish I used Catherine Pooler inks, which lately are my inks of choice.  This stamp set is a three step stamping technique.  I made a bunch of the jellyfish, so I now have a stash of them for future cards.  The jellyfish were mounted onto a die cut oval, then adhered to a herringbone background card.  The herringbone technique can be seen here in a page from my background sketchbook, which I started years ago.  If you click on the page in the post you will see I first did the herringbone technique back in 2010.  Here is a more recent post showing the herringbone technique.  If you would like to check out more just type herringbone in the search bar.

This is a classic technique I learned years ago, in fact, I have it in my background sketch book.

In my sketch book back in 2010, as you can see I used carpet tape for the base.  That tape is strong!  Now I just use whatever is in front of me ... could be glue, double stick tape or the full sheets of double sided tape.

more paper scraps

Yes, I'm using up more paper scraps ... because I have so many!  this time around I'm doing the herribone technique ... it's a great technique to use up a lot of those strips of decorative papers you have left over.  You can see this technique where I used ribbon here and here  is a page out of my Background Sketchbook.  It's a fun technique where you first place a strip horizonal but on a diagonal then vertical.

Herribone technique

Here is another page out of my Background Sketchbook I started years ago but I do reference back to it a lot.  It is fun to see what is old is new again for example I did this Herringbone technique back in 2010 on double sided carpet tape but now-a-days I just use a good permanent glue stick or fill a piece of cardstock with double sided tape or even glue for this technique.  I'll be posting new cards with this technique very soon.
