Fracture cards

 Fracture cards

Had fun making these two cards for Jen Rzasa #altenewchallengelive Divide & Design theme

All stamps are by Altenew stamp co., Papers by SU

I decided to make fractured cards.  Fracture cards are an artistic technique that will give your handmade cards a one-of-a-kind look. I have made this style card before which you can see here.  If you type fracture in the search bar you can see more posts I did with this technique.

Fractured Doodle-Doo

 Fractured Doodle-Doo

Still another fracture card from me to you!

stamp set used:  Unity Coffee-Doodle-Doo stamp set and papers

Now Unity stamp company calls this a coffee bird, but I'm a tea gal ... so for me ... she's a tea drinking bird.  You will be seeing more of this tea drinker soon.

Fracture cards are creative to make, and easy.  I done several of them so I'll just link you up to ones I have done here, and here for you to check out.

More Fracture cards

 More Fracture cards

stamps/supplies used:  Stampin' Up

Fracture cards are cards, that look like they are sectioned off, or fractured.  It's a fun, and unique style card.

I've been making this style card for since October 2023 as you can see in this post with a template how I create fracture cards.
Here's a horizontal version of a fracture card.
Here's another post showing a couple more fracture cards.  As you can see with my cards, you can do them in any orientation, and with different shapes in the center of the cards.

Dec. 2023-Love and Jan 2024-shoebox swap

Dec. 2023-Love and Jan. 2024-shoebox swap

Today I'm featuring two months for my Creative Crew card local swap group.

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. 2 step wreath

We decided to combine December and January meeting because we were all so busy with the holiday.  The December theme was Love, so I did the 2 step wreath in green and red on a circle card.  Added a love saying to cement the theme.

stamps used:  Stampin' Up Waterfront (saying), Stampin' Up DSP

Theme for January 2024 is a shoebox swap.   Each guest brings all of the supplies needed to make a card… and packs it all in a shoe box or any container. In the shoe box is a sample of the finished card, pre-cut card stock and all the stamps, ink & accessories needed to make the card.

I had to go one step further, and do two cards.  Card #1 is basic and card #2 is stepped up a little.  I did fracture cards which you can see here in this post with a template.

Fractured cards and more

 Fractured cards and more

Today pattern paper is the star of the show in these fracture cards.

For fracture cards, you can use one or two designs, as you can see in the photo.

In the close up you can see two designs.
Check out the diagrams and measurements in my template.

Basic instructions:

Stamp saying on the diagonal on the 2" square piece of cardstock.  Adhere 2" square at a diagonal in the center of 5" x 3 3/4" pattern paper then glue strips around it.  Cut off excess strips that are hanging off the piece.  If you want two designs, just place a piece of pattern paper in one of the sections, and cut off excess.

With left-over pattern paper pieces you can make Mosaic cards.

What I did was randomly cut up the left over pieces of pattern paper.  Cut them up into small squares, triangles or strips whatever you want.  Adhere the cut pieces to a piece of cardstock that has double stick sheet on it.  Leave spaces between each piece of small pattern paper.  Sprinkle embossing power on the spaces between the "mosaic" pieces.  Heat embossing powder as you would normally.  The embossing powder is like grout between the mosaic pieces.
