Another Snowflake crop weekend done until next year!

I did a couple of MITI's this year using a new product and new inks to me!

product used: chalk coulture

This product was unique and new to me.  basically you place down a stencil and spread a thin layer of the product, remove the stencil to reveal the end result.  I guess it can be described as a matte finish texture paste that dries fairly quickly.

product used:  Catherine Pooler inks

For these two cards they were embossed first with a big background stamp.  The bird (die cut) card used the inks blended over the black embossed background.  These inks went on smooth and blended beautifully.  The create (die cut) card was embossed with white embossing powder then overstamped with a striped image using the same inks.  

I had fun using both these products and ended up purchasing a few of the ink pads to take home.

I have been very bad with sharing my art journal pages from the weekly challenge I am participating in for the year.  So it is time to start playing catch up here.

wk #36 Wing It page

first I stamped the wings with grey ink a few times on the page.  blended some color with distress inks on separate piece of cardstock and over stamp the wings on it.  fussy cut the wings and adhered to the page.  stamped bird on separate piece of cardstock, added some color with blending tool and distress inks.  stamped the bird a second time on some pattern paper and did some paper piecing.  set her (the bird) aside stamped bigger wings on some of the left over cardstock I blended distress ink on to and fussy cut the big wings out and adhered to page.  adhered bird over the big wings.  stamped a couple of the sayings on the page and called it a day for this page.

Now for this page I did all die cuts I had left over from other projects.  simple but to the point.
I have a small plastic container on my table with left over pieces ... whether they are die cuts, stamped images or whatever....and I have them in front of me so if I need it I have it.

Art Journal wk#27 - One

stamps used:

I am liking keeping it simple for the last couple of layouts.  This one is no exception.  stamped the chicken and did a little spot coloring, masked him off and then just blended some colors of distress inks in the yellow family with blending tool.  

Art Journal - caught up!

 this layout is transform the edge which I did with my Dyan journal block.  if you look to the right you can see the curvy edge.

this two page layout is travel but because the two pages before were the transformed edge you can see them here, too.  the page on the left is a cut wavy edge but the right side is not cut just a wavy edge that is like it was stenciled. 

Both sets of layouts were colored with distress inks, blending tool, stamped and a little select coloring.  the images are from lots of companies:  LIWP, SU, MFP and Stamper's Anon. The little postmarks and postage style stamps aren't mark so I don't remember what company...they have to be 15 to 17 years old.
