Frightful Halloween

 Frightful Halloween

dies used:  Tim Holtz, Stampin' Up

My friends know I like to make Halloween cards so, this year is no different.

dies used:  Tim Holtz, Stampin' Up

I made a bunch of these cards using TH dies, and SU tree die.  As you can see some of them I sponged color on trees ... others I left white.  Since I made multiples of this design I'm not showing all of them.  I'll start mailing them out probably next week.  Here's a question for you:  Do you know what type of paper is the purple behind the trees?  I'll leave this question up till my next post.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back soon. Feel free to leave a message and let me know if you like to make Halloween cards.

Eeyore halloween

 Eeyore Halloween

Eeyore is one of my favorite animals from Winnie the Pooh. Oh, ok all of them are my favorites!

                                                  stamps/stencils used:  Unity stamp co.

This card is on the dark side in color because I did it on kraft cardstock, then colored with color pencils. This Halloween stamp from Unity stamp co. is such a change for my Halloween stamping style.  I usually go really creepy and weird but I just loved this stamp as soon as I saw it.

The rest of the cards I made were done on left over Duoprinting w/chlorophyll prints, which you can see here in this post with a video.  These were also colored with my prisma color pencils.

Remember if you want to see more about my duoprinting w/chlorophyll prints just type it in search bar.

Monster pop ups

Happy Halloween!

 Monster pop up cards

stamps used:  Catherine Pooler monster ghouls stamp set/dies

Pop up cards are a long time favorite of mine.

measurements:

base card: 4 1/4" x 11 score and fold in half to form card.

pop up mechanism: cut a strip of cardstock and score evenly four times. Glue the two ends together to form cube.  Cube will be the pop up mechanism that will fold flat inside card.

Stamp and color all the monsters, die cut and adhere or mount to card. Inside card adhere the pop up cube at the folded score line of the base card.  Adhere saying or monster to pop up cube.  Add other layers to card as desired.  You can also see on my card I embossed one of the front layers for more dimension.

Googly eyes!

Googly eyes!

This is my September card swap card for my local creative card crew group.  The theme was googly eyes!  so I decided to go Halloween with googly eye bats.

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

basic instructions:
1.   Reverse mask a circle to create a bright moon which was colored with yellow and orange inks.
2.  blend gray and black ink around the edges of the card to give it that gloomy Halloween effect.
3.  stamp two bats over the moon.
4.  punch out third bat and adhere to card and glue googly eyes.
5.  stamp cloudy texture image a couple of times with gray ink.
6.  stamp saying in black and add more googly eyes.
7.  layer stamped card to black layer then to yellow card.
If you would like to see more reverse masked, or masking techniques I have done, just type masking techniques in the search bar on the side of my blog.
Thank you for stopping by and come back again soon.  all comments welcomed.

Happy Halloween!

stamps used:  Unity stamp co.
I'm not sure what the actual name of this style card is so I'm just calling it a Flip card with a card inside.  Anyone out there who knows or can think up a better name please let me know in the comment section.
Measurements:
black card =  5 1/2" x 6 1/4"  -  score at 2"
black layers =  cut two at 3" x 3 1/2"
orange card =  5 1/4" x 8"  -  score at 4"  -  folded card for inside  -  tape to black base card.
white layers =  cut two at 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"  -  stamped pieces for front and middle inside piece.
inside white layer =  3 3/4" x 5"
To create the white moon I punched out a circle and used it as a mask then stippled color around it.
Yes, I got out my stipple brushes ..... an old favorite tool of mine that I haven't used in ages.  So get out an old favorite tool you haven't used in a while and bring it back to life!
Hope you enjoyed this post.
come back again soon.

Fun circles

stamps used:  SU
I made these two cards from a friend's SU stamp set as a challenge.  don't remember the name of the set but it had a bunch of little stamps including this circle and rectangle patch stamps.  I took the circle and stamped it in black and made the circles into spiders ... added a gloopy border punch that is stamped with a halloween greeting...also added googly eyes.  next I stamped the circle with red ink and made them into ladybugs!  too cute.  I took a black pen and hand drew the ladybug details .... stamped the rectangle patch with the same red ink and stamped the hello from the same stamp set.  it was a fun challenge and I think will do it again.

Cut up card with video

A cut up card is just what it sounds like ... a card that is cut up into sections.  some people like to do measurements but I am not one of them.  I just went for it and cut it up.  I will give measurements of the layers but when it comes to cutting it up ... sorry I just did what looked good to me.  I did three color schemes for my cards ... I started with the orange, purple and last the yellow and each time I liked it but I do have to say I think my favorite is the yellow one.  how about you?
you can watch the video here in this post at the bottom or at Sue Wisniewski - YouTube
