Mixed Media w/Friends #2

 Mixed Media w/Friends #2

stamps used:  Art Impressions (bingo lady), unknown (little bingo card)

I had fun with my second MMw/F card because just before I made this card I did virtual Bingo with some friends.....so I thought how appropriate to do a bingo theme for my card.  I used the actual bingo card on my jumbo playing card and the raffle ticket for my background.  The rest just fell into place when I remembered I had the bingo lady stamp and saying.  I rummaged through my stamping drawers and found an old wood mounted little bingo card so had to use it, too.  Unfortunately, the wood mounted bingo card is so old I can't read the company name on the side of the wood.

this card is my friend's MMwF card

Basically what she did was sprayed the background with dylusions lemon zest ink spray.  Other things she used were clear gesso, mini mod checkerboard stencil, Unity Simplicity stamp set and TH small talk saying.

We are having fun doing mixed media techniques on these Jumbo playing cards.  You see more about these cards and our first cards here in this post.

thanks for stopping by.  come back soon.

best witches

stamped and colored this little witch at a friend's house yesterday....my friends know I like to make Halloween cards.  I would like this witch in a bigger size but for now she is flying high on my card.  colored her with my prisma color pencils and added glitter with stickles but it hard to see in this photo.  click on photo to enlarge to see the glitter a little better on the witch and the background.  I took like 15 photos and this was the best....oh well, I'm a stamper not a photographer but I'm pleased the way the actual card came out.

Dark and dreary night

Yes, I would have to say this card makes me think of a dark and dreary night.  Hey, I wonder what those two vultures are talking about?  I enjoyed creating this card because I, of course used my Prisma color pencils to color the birds but I also got out my distress inks to blend in lots of dark color for the background of this card.  First I got out my spider web embossing folder...inked up one side then placed a piece of cardstock in it and just closed it and pressed the ink to the card.....didn't even have to get out my big kick.  Oh yes, forgot to mention I spritzed it with water before placing the card inside the folder.  Next I stamped the vultures on the branch, masked them and stamped the spooky tree.  did a little water coloring (used distress pads and wet paint brush) on the tree then got out my blending tools and went to town with black soot ink and dusty concord ink.  I wanted some more dimension so I stamped and colored (yes with my prisma color pencils) the vultures then cut them out and popped them up with pop dots on the front of the card.  Think I might be adding a halloween saying to this card but not quite sure as of yet.  time will tell.

Cathy caffeine!

I'd like you all to meet AI's Cathy caffeine.  I met her a few weeks ago at a friends' house and just had to put her to paper only thing is I do NOT like coffee....not even the smell of it soooooo my Cathy is drinking Chia Tea.  Looks like she is enjoying it.  I hand wrote Chia tea on the cup after I colored both cards with ..... you know what is coming if you read my blog regularly......my Prisma color pencils......my favorite coloring medium.  I dabble with other color mediums but always go back to my Prisma color pencils and believe me they are well loved.  one day I'll take a picture of them so you can see...some of them are just stubs but I refuse to throw them out till I find the same color and lately that is becoming harder and harder to do.  Apparently the craft stores are leaning more towards the paints, sprays and gelatos now don't get me wrong I own some of them, too but just love the feel of coloring with my pencils and the way I can add all the colors of the rainbow and more.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A one layer wonder

Here is my one layer wonder.  Hard to really see the card because the base card is white.  Stamped bingo lady from Art Impressions - Rubber Stamps then hand drew a box around her with sharpie marker.  Next got out my Prisma color pencils to color this blue haired bingo playing gal.  She sure looks like she is having fun and I do like the fun sayings that go along with her.
