Luna Moth

 Luna Moth

This is a big Luna Moth that will fit across an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card as you can see in pic.  For this purple (yes, purple but in the pic it looks blue) Luna moth I stamped it, blended colors in the image, then fussy cut it out.  There is no die for this moth at this time, but maybe Unity will have one in the future...otherwise I'm ok with fussy cutting it out.  I layered a 4" x 5 1/4" of the Moonborn Flight paper onto a base card.  I didn't have paper to match the color ink I used, so I just blended the same ink onto the base of the card before I adhered the pattern paper.  Next I adhered the fussy cut Luna moth over the pattern paper, added word with mounting tape...added some inexpensive self sticking gems that I got at our local Dollar Tree store.

stamps/supplies used:  Unity stamp co. Sacred Flight Luna Moth stamp set, Moonborn Flight paper pack

Now for my second card I stamped the Luna moth directly onto a white panel.  Again blended some rose pink ink for the wings plus yellow and brown inks onto the body of the moth.  Then I cut the panel down to 3 3/4" x 5".  I purposely cut off one of the wings of the Luna moth with the idea to make a bookmark with it later.

Next I ripped a piece of the pattern paper and adhered it over the moth.  Stamped word, and punched it out with an old oval paper punch, then mounted it on the panel.  Added some more of those inexpensive gems.  Adhered stamped panel to a black panel then the base card.  Check out the bookmark!  Can you figure out how I did it?  That's right it's the left over piece that was left after I cut down the Luna moth piece.

Coastal faux postage

 Coastal faux postage

I'm back to making faux postage style cards using, Waffle Flower company Postage Collage Coastal stencil set.  There is also a Coastal greetings set that has lots of fun sayings to go along with the faux postage stencil set.
I first did it in multiple ink colors which is the way it is created to do.  BUT, of course, knowing me I had to do it in a monochromatic style
using green inks!  Also had to create a tag/bookmark style one, too.  The lighthouse image was perfect for a tag/bookmark.  Hope you are not tired of seeing faux postage projects from me, because I'm sure there will be more.

Rainbows with stencils

 Rainbows with stencils

Believe it or not I am having fun with rainbow colors!  Yes, me ... the one who said she didn't do rainbow colors.  Continuing with Jen Rzasa's Altenew Tuesday #altenewchallengelive Radiant Rainbows.

Basic instructions:

Cut strips of Altenew masking paper - 1/4" and 1/8".  ***You can use any masking paper you have in your stash.*** Layer a stencil over the panel with the masking paper strips.  Blend the color of the rainbow over the stencil.  Remove the stencil. Before removing the masking paper strips... with the same colors blend color over the stenciled areas. Remove the strips to reveal the fun.   Layer the stencil panel to dark panel then onto base card.

I couldn't stop there sooooooooo I did one more card doing the technique I call Joseph's Coat with a stencil twist.

You can see how I did this technique in this post with a video I did back in 2020!  Wow, didn't think it was that long ago since I did this technique.  Time flies when having fun.

Radiant Rainbows

 Radiant Rainbows

This week's #altenewchallengelive with Jen Rzasa is Radiant Rainbows.  Now to start I will say it ... I don't usually do rainbow colors on my cards.  It's just not me, but I got into the colors, and using Altenew Stencil Art:  Nature Splashes ... which is my favorite of the Stencil Art sets I own.

I did the best I could with the inks I own for the rainbow colors.  For this first one, yes I said first one, I ended up doing a bright pink, dark green, yellow, a medium orange, blue, and a violet.  Well, as close as I could.  I really like the way it turned out.  For me the Nature Splashes stencil set worked out for all my cards, and bookmarks.

The second set is "kinda" a pastel rainbow.  You tell me. I used a couple of light purples, medium green, and medium blue.

Third set with sweet friend, and hi! are a variation of the second set.  I changed up the orange and blue for this card, and bookmark.

Fourth set is a little more of a variation of colors.
Anyway, I had fun with my Stencil Art:  Nature Splashes set.

Flag tag

 Flag tag

I have been making tags for years, and I still enjoy making all sizes of tags.

This tag is for Jen Rzasa Altenew #Altenewchallengelive.  This week's theme is use a mini stamp set.

I found Giving Back mini stamp set in my stash, and since yesterday was Flag day ... I thought it was meant to be.  It is a two step flag image with a saying from J.F.K. ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.  I used all the tiny images from this set plus a bunch of enamel dots.  As you know if you keep up with my blog I do like my Altenew enamel dots.

Painted Jellyfish

 Painted Jellyfish

Another week another #altenewchallengelive challenge with Jen Rzasa from Altenew stamp company.  The challenge for this week is NO black in our cards/projects.

stamps/dies used:  Altenew Painted Jellyfish stamp/die set, Enamel dots

If you know me you know I love a good fun fold, and like I've said before this is a good one.  It's a variation on a z-fold card, so I call it a z-fold with a twist.  Just to let you know I made this card because a friend sent me a birthday card in this style, thank you very much ... so ... I just had to go to pinterest and find instructions.

Here is a scan of my written instructions and a card template.
Again if you know me ... I couldn't stop at just making one or two cards.
Here are three more cards with the theme no black using the Painted Jellyfish.  I do like this stamp set because a few years ago we visited the Mystic Aquarium where I saw a variety of Jellyfish.  I never knew they came in so many colors and sizes.

Thank you for stopping by.  Come back soon.

Dracula and Wolf Man

 Dracula and Wolf Man

I'm still getting inspiration from Movie posters for Jen Rzasa Tuesday #altenewchallengelive from Altenew stamp company.

First up is Dracula a famous vampire character introduced in Bram Stroker's 1897 novel of the same name.  I'm in a tag mood so my Dracula is a big rectangle style tag.  Started by blending a few green inks on a white card ... white embossed the Dracula in the center.  The other two were stamped with a green ink.  I know this poster colors were green and black ... but ... I just had to add a bit of red.  I mean it's Dracula a creature of the night who wants to suck your blood.

Next inspiration is The Wolf Man the image of a cursed soul doomed to become a werewolf at the rising of a full moon. Wolf Man another creature of the night.  This is longer but still rectangle style tag. I blended colors on this tag, but I only used blending brushes that were in front of me.  Another words only the ink on the brush ... I didn't get out any ink pads just used up ink on the brushes.

Movie posters

 Movie posters

This week for Jen Rzasa on Altenew Tuesday #altenewchallengelive the theme is inspiration from Movie posters.  Of course, I would pick monster or mystery posters.

For my first movie poster I picked Frankenstein

I created a BIG tag using the colors of this poster.  I also found this Frankenstein rubber stamp in my stash.  The letters are an Altenew alphabet die set, that I think worked perfectly for this tag.

My second movie poster is from one of my favorite old b&w movies that I think I have seen at least a dozen times (if you ask my husband he would say more like 100 times. teeheeheee.  I have it on dvd).

Again I used an old rubber stamp of a face profile, and a skeleton stamp.  I started out by stamping all images with white pigment ink on black cardstock, then added color with my Prisma color pencils.  The Dead Ringer is from a real old clear alphabet set...it's so old the clear stamps are so sticky they were hard to put in place.

I hopefully plan on doing more monster poster inspirations this weekend.  I'll see how the weekend goes.

stamps/stencils/dies: Waffle Flower faux postage die/stamps, GinaKdesigns flower stencils, Altenew bloom with creativity

I am having lots of fun with this postage die because you can use anything inside the spaces.  This time I used Gina K designs flower stencils ..... one is zinnia and the other is sunflower stencils.
These big flower stencils work great with the faux postage die.

Triangles!

 Triangles!

This week in Jen Rzasa Tuesday #altenewchallengelive the theme is Triangles!

I know I've said this before but I'll say it again ... I am having fun with these Tuesday Altenew challenges by Jen Rzasa co-owner and designer for Altenew.  The above cards are my favorites of the several cards I created with triangles.  The card in the middle is a 5x7 card (which I don't do often), but thought it worked for my triangle flowers on this card.  The other two cards are what I call geometric style.
These cards triangle like .. what I mean is there is a big triangle on the card with the square.  The tag has a triangle in the bottom corner, and the last card is called a fractured card.  There are other names but can't remember right now.  If you know leave me a comment and I'll add it to this post.

I started off by getting out a few stencils that are from Altenew, even though, for these challenges you don't have to use their products.

I pulled out different pastes to put through the stencils.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back soon.
