Faux Metal

Here is my take on Tim Holtz's September tag which you can see his here.  I didn't have half the products he does so I did it my way.  I used HVAC metal tape and Ranger slate, eggplant alcohol inks.  Never thought about having the black but now I think I will look for it to add to my stash.  I used a grunge number 3 under the metal tape then you know what I did?  I didn't like all the color so I took a sponge dabber with black StazOn ink over spots like the #3 which left a nice grey tone.  StazOn also takes off the alcohol inks which in this case I liked the effect.  Added ribbon and twine from Really Reasonable Ribbons .  The image is stamped on cardstock and vellum.

Entering this tag in the following challenge:
1.  Blog | Tim Holtz - sept. tag
2.  Moving Along With The Times - flying high
