Spring!

Over on The Stampsmith Challenge the theme this time is Spring! I wanted to show a close up of the card with the embedded layers.....really liking this technique. I used a pretty lady from The Stampsmith Art Rubber Stamps for this card then added some chiffon type ribbon from May Arts ribbons . Because the ribbon has a shimmery look it doesn't scan well but it is beautiful in person.

Lucky me, Published again!
Yeah, lucky me! I was published in this issue of Stamper's Sampler catch up Vol. 15 on page 125. Earlier in the year there was a call for decorating one of their dress templates and I sent in three but only one was chosen for that perticular issue but another one was accepted for this catch up issue. I just got an advance issue in last night's mail. Only disappointment is they really condensed down my instructions, but after
it is out in the stores on May 1, 1022, I'll give full details of my card but will tell you that all stamps in my card are from Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images

Alice challenge - blue & yellow

This is my first time joining in this challenge over on The Altered Alice . I just picked up these stamps at a stamp convention last year and they finally have ink on them! For this challenge all you had to do was use the colors blue & yellow. I decided to do a tri-fold accordion card so I could fit more than one image from the stamp sheet. Oh yes, these stamps are from Lost Coast Design. ***please join my following, follow by email and leave a comment when you can. blog drawing coming soon in June.***

Newsprint/Old Book Pages

Here is my entry for
Stampotique Designer's Blog newsprint/old book pages challenge. Behind goth girl is a page from an old dictionary and believe me those pages are very fragile. If you look close you can see the definition for goth over on the left. I used Ranger Ink Distress inks to color the background to give it that aged look. What I did for this card is layer all the pieces onto card ..... used Distress inks with blending tool to age it then ran it through Sizzix Big Kick with Tim Holtz embossing folder. Think I read online this technique is called Embedding layers. I really like this background technique.

Winter wonderland
This is one of the cards we did in my April Holiday card class last week. This card was stamped with 'The Ranger Ink berry purple archival ink on watercolor paper. Colored in the trees and sun with Prisma watercolor pencils then moved the color around with a water pen. Added some stickles glitter glue to the ground area of the image for snow effect.

Moon Faerie
Just wanted to pop on and show a fun card using Faerie Song Art Stamps ~ Fantasy Themed Images .
Her dress is paper pieced with polka dot decorative paper and added ribbon....it's not really ribbon that I would call it but a type of clear plastic on a string.

Also did the same card but different color scheme for my friend's husband birthday which is tomorrow.

Blushing Santa
O.K. so it's not really a battle ....... it's a couple of cards I made. Thank you for all the comments how to improve my card. The first one on the left is pretty boring! My changes ..... first I stamped Santa face on cream cardstock and added color to his cheeks, nose, mustache and hair with Pebbles pearlescent chalks. Oh yeah, I also changed the belt buckle by punching it out of gold cardstock and free cutting the hook. Not sure what to call that piece of metal that fits into the holes on the belt. Anyone know? I also want to say a thank you to Rose from one of my yahoo groups StampersCorner who I CASED (copied) this idea.

Holiday cards questions????
Would like your suggestions on the color scheme of these three cards. Should I use one of the gold cardstock or go all mauve???
Hope you can see in scan that there are two different tones of gold cardstock.
Another question.....do you think this card is too cute to use in a class?
Please leave a comment with your suggestions! Need to know by Tuesday morning the latest. thanks!
