Out to Lunch

Couldn't resist the title.  lol!  I finally decorated this little tin lunch box that I have had for years.  Do you have things you save forever before you do something with them?  We are still having winter weather here so I decided to make this a cheerful spring lunch box.  I will fill it with die cuts and give it to my niece when we go to visit in the spring.
Basically I glued decorated papers on the lunch box then stamped the Stampin' Up butterfly, punched it out with the corresponding punch.  Mounted with foam mounting tape and added some Ranger Ink black stickles for the butterfly body.

Thursday Tutorial - Hoppy Birthday envelope card

Hoppy Birthday envelope card

Supplies
Stamps: Anthony & Burt Best Sellers #FSP58 (SI)
Ink: Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
Paper: #10 envelope, K&Company decorative papers, white & light green cardstock
Accessories: Pebbles Pearlescent Chalking Set (SI), pointed Q-Tips, EK Success 1 3/8” circle & tab punch, scoring board or bone folder & ruler

Directions

1. Seal the flap of the envelope, using double stick tape.

2. Trim ¼ “off each end of envelope. Envelope will now measure 9” long.

3. Score 4” from the left end of envelope on your score board. Fold envelope along the score line. This will form the two pockets of your card.

4. Cut out half circle with 1 3/8” circle punch on the top flap of each pocket. This will create an opening for cards that will be inserted in pockets.

5. Cut piece of decorative paper 3 ¾ “square and tape to center of front pocket. Re-punch half circle you created before on the pocket.

6. Cut two pieces of decorative papers 4” x 3 ¾ “.

7. Add double sided tape to one of the 4” x 3 ¾ “papers and slide into the front pocket just far enough to match the top edge of the back pocket. This will cover the envelope of the interior of the front pocket and the top of the back pocket.

8. Re-punch half circle on the back pocket.

9. Add tape to the second 4” x 3 ¾ “piece of decorative paper and insert into the back pocket to cover the blank envelope and give it a decorative inside.

10. To make tags for inside the pockets: Front pocket - cut light green cardstock 3 ½ “ x 3 ¾ “and white cardstock 3 ¼ “ x 3 ½ “. Back pocket – light green cardstock 3 ½ “ x 4 ¾ “ and white cardstock 3 ¼ “ x 4 ½ “.

11. Stamp For me? saying with Archival ink Jet Black and lilly pads on 3 ¼ “ x 3 ½ “ white card. Color in lilly pads with Pebbles pearlescent chalks using the Q-tips. The pointed Q-tips give better control with the chalks in smaller areas. Tape stamped card to light green card with punched out tab and insert into front pocket.

12. With Jet Black ink stamp Hoppy Birthday and cattails on 3 ¼ “ x 4 ½ “ white card. Color in cattails with Pebbles pearlescent chalks with pointed Q-tips for better control of chalks. Tape stamped card to light green card with punched out tab and insert into back pocket.

13. Stamp Anthony & Burt with cake image on white card and color with Pebbles pearlescent chalks using Q-tips.

14. Tape to front of envelope card. Re-punch half circle with 1 3/8” circle punch.

15. Tape a piece of decorative paper to the back of envelope card to finish off card.

Hoppy Birthday Tag

Thought it would be fun to show you a fun birthday tag.
Just a fun little birthday tag that can be used as a card or tag attached to a gift.  All the images are from Sunday International Rubber Stamps .  I colored the frog image with my Prisma color pencils, yes I'm getting back to my basics in coloring.  Also on the tag are grungeboard pieces that I painted with Ranger Ink Paint dabbers.  I do like using the dabbers they are just so convenient .... all in one paint and paint brush.  Sometimes the paint does get a bit thick so I just add some water and clean out the dabber.  That seems to work for me.
I will be starting back up my Thursday Tutorials this week.  The first Thursday Tutorial for 2011 will be a pocket card.  Please stop by to check.

Jump is by Petti.  Don't know the company she used but isn't it just an adorable bunch of children!
Leslie was very clever with her grapes in a jar for Jam.
Grace filled her jars with lots of candy to supply our sweet tooth.
Roberta is continuing with her theme of doing animals and she is including our feather friends.

Valentine or Love challenge

This week over on Stampotique Designers Challenge  the theme is Valentine or Love.  This week you can use stamps from any company so I did Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein from  Starving Artistamps .  My card is a simple but effective slider card.

 Here is my entry:

Gifts & cards from Valentine lucheon

Our hostess Leslie set up bags in the living room for us to put our Valentine swap cards.  Besides our swap cards some of us bring small tokens of appreciation gifts.  Roberta decorated a pink bag with a big paper rosette flower and inside a fun pair of socks.  Grace gave us a heart bag full of fun little goodies like that sweet bracelet.
Here's a look at a bunch of our goodies spread out on the table.

See this heart box ..... inside a puzzle from Muriel for us to put together.

Another surprise from Muriel a box with a big square ribbon pull out card!

Check out our swap cards!  don't they look wonderful.  Mine isn't in the picture but I'll add a picture of my card in a later post.
Thank you to all my friends.  I appreciate their friendship and talents throughout the year.

At Leslie's house there are some beautiful carvings on the doors and here is a look at the dining room door carving.  He is all dressed up for Valentine's Day.  Hope you enjoyed a look at our
Valentine get together

***please feel free to leave me a comment and join my following.  I plan on doing a blog candy drawing of some kind within the next few months so come back frequently to see what is going on here.***

Sweet Valentine

This adorable sweet candy is going to my sweet adorable niece.  Easy peasy card just stamped Starving Artiststamps candy image with Brilliance coffee bean ink on white card then stamped it two more times on pattern papers and cut out different sections.  Paper pieced it to the stamped white card, layered and there you have it. For the background piece I used  Tim Holtz Sizzix texture fade embossing folder.

Beading with friends

This past Sunday a few of us got together to bead....not stamp....and we had a lot of fun.  We made these  bracelets that wrap around your wrist 3 to 5 times.  The original bracelets are called Chan Luu Wrap bracelets.  Don't have a picture of an original but here are the ones our little group made.  Our hostess and instructor to make this wrap bracelet was our good friend Leslie.  She wasn't in the room when I pulled out my camera but did take a picture of her bracelet.  Thank you, Leslie for having us over your house and showing us how to make these fun bracelets.

We even had a mother daughter beading together and having lots of fun.
