Patchwork Owls
Here are three examples of doing the Patchwork technique(my name), I think others might call it Paper Piecing. This technique works great with this big owl from
Hero Arts Online . I'm not affiliated with this company just like some of thier images and since I am into owl stamps this fits great into my collection of stamps. Patchwork or paper piecing is a fun way to use up scraps of decorative paper you or I should say I keep saving. I have been trying to use what I have lately which is quite a bit instead of going out and buying new. Look for this technique on my upcoming Thursday Tutorial. enjoy!

ATC's
Here are a few ATC's I made for swaps in one of my yahoo groups I belong. The fun thing with the three of these ATC's is I used the same leaf (hero arts) background stamp. Time flies... is for painted background. this was fun to do. first stamped & embossed leaf (hero arts) background. second dabbed on paints with Ranger Paint dabbers. easiest way to put paint to paper without any fuss or mess. buffed embossed image with wet paper towel to remove any paint. Paint dabbers do not stick to embossing so great for resist techniques. next overstamped with honeycomb image & bee again just wipe off any ink from embossed areas. stamp bee again, color with Prisma color pencils, cut out and mount over stamped bee and done.
Now this flower ATC which I called nature .... if you look(click on pic to enlarge) closely you will see nature stamped was actually made to use for a swap but then realized I already did "N"(alpha atc swap) so decided to use for artist choice swap in yahoo group.
Next is rabbit ATC ..... this is for a mystery swap in yahoo group. this is where hostess sends stamped image to participants and they create an atc. this is what i did.enjoy!

Glass museum
Visited the glass museum in Corning, N.Y. this past week. It is just amazing what these talented artists can do with glass. That's me standing next to a glass ship with gold figures.....I look good in the dark. teeheehee no flash allowed in the museum. Look at that beautiful box with glass beads. The photo doesn't do it justice.Saturday, April 10, 2010

Allsorts challenge - No designer papers

No designer papers is easy for me because I do like to spotlight the image by using Prisma color pencils whenever I can.

Pretty Butterflies
Here are some more of the beautiful butterflies. Really like the photo where one is resting and other is flying around him. The brown butterfly looks like brown suede in person. The green & yellow are like flourescent. If you ever have the chance to visit Magic Wings do so! Butterflies are free!

We took a ride the other day to a place in Mass. called Magic Wings. It is a fun place where you go into these two rooms where these beautiful butterflies fly free while you walk around. You have to watch where you walk because there are little quail running around and the butterflies land and rest on benches or the ground. Look on my husband's shoulder! enjoy!Thursday, April 1, 2010
