New class

We will be making a box out of a sheet of 12 x 12 decorative cardstock. It's just a little scoring and folding then all the fixings to go inside the box. Ask a friend to join you and come to class to spend a fun afternoon. Oh yeah, everything will be included in class by instructor all you need bring is your basic tool kit including good adhesive in different sizes, bone folder/scoring and ruler or a Score It tool if you have. I will bring one and I believe there is one in classroom. Hope to see you at class.

Lunch get together

For the past few years our friend has several of us over for lunch, show & tell cards then we pick up our SU catalog.  This year was no different.....good food, a lot of cards to check out and our catalog.
Check out the table with our lunch!  Yum!  In the other picture it's Petti (our hostess), Muriel & that's me with my mouth open.  Have no idea why it's open just me with my big mouth open.

We made an apron card.  Shown here tied shut and then open. This mini envelope shown closed and open ..... this was used as a napkin ring .... very creative.
Hope you liked this little tour of our get together.

B&W Freeform peyote bracelet

I finished my black & white Freeform peyote bracelet.  I did go back to MANIFEST BEADS---We Moved to 51 River Street in Milford for help and Kira was very helpful.  Just to let you know I'm not affiliated with bead store just a very appreciative customer for all their help and knowledge.  Always willing to help.  If you look back here:   http://stampingsueinconnecticut.blogspot.com/2010/07/freeform-peyote-bracelet.html  to see the two other bracelets I made you can see the difference between them.  The first, green one is five rows then with the red/brown one I did a couple more rows now with this b & w one it is more like a cuff bracelet because I couldn't stop I just kept going & going & going.  Do need to take a break from beading, though because these old eyes need a rest so back to stamping this week.  enjoy!

Freeform peyote bracelet

No stamping today.  Yes, the die heart stamper is taking a break to do some beading.  I took a class earlier this week at a local bead store, Beads, Seed Beads, Czech Glass, Milford CT | MANIFEST BEADS and made a freeform peyote bracelet.   I made the green one in class with instructor Kira helping me all the way through it and the red/brown tone one I did at home yesterday all by myself.  I do like the green one better for two reasons first it's my color and second it is more consistent having Kira there helping me.  I want to start a new one today with black & white color theme and go back to store to get a couple of things clarified for me with Kira.
Don't worry I am still and will always be a die heart stamper but it is fun sometimes just to stray a little.  enjoy!

Thursday Tutorial - 100% American

100% American

Intermediate
Supplies
Stamps: Anthony & Burt Best Sellers EZMount FSP58 (SI)
Ink: Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
Paper: Ranger Gloss Paper
Accessories: Lyra Aquacolor crayons, Aqua paint brush, May Arts sx01 white ribbon

Directions

1.Stamp saying 100% American and frog with Archival ink Jet Black on Ranger Gloss 8 ½” x 5 ½” card. When folded in half it creates a note card.

2.Allow the images to dry for a couple of minutes.

3.Fill the Aqua paint brush barrel with water and squeeze to allow the water to flow out and dampen the brush.

4.Take the wet Aqua brush to the Lyra Aquacolor crayons to get color.

5.Brush the color onto the image in selected areas. Stripes on flag red, blue behind the stars, green for frog body, yellow for frog eyes, orange for fly eyes and light blue for wings.

6.Loosely brush color under the feet of frog to represent the ground.

7.Cut a piece of white ribbon at 14”.

8.Place the ribbon on table. Brush light blue from Aqua crayon with Aqua paint brush over the ribbon to create a matching color ribbon.

9.Tie colored ribbon around card in a knot.
***Tip***
Adding color to any white ribbon with color mediums is a great way to match to a card.
enjoy!

ATC's

Thought I would just show a couple ATC's (artist trading cards) I made The Stampsmith(not affiliated just like them) images.  I stamped the one image (sorry don't know her name) with black ink onto glossy cardstock with polish stone technique.  Yes, they are very dark but still like them.
The other one is Queen Katherine - love that her name is included in the image.  Stamped the queen on light purple cardstock with black ink.  Simple but effective.  Enjoy!

Time for another set of Alpha Postcard Buddies for"F".  Again I think we all did a great job.  This time around everyone took the same letter but different themes.  The only constant thing is mine because the main image is Hot Potatoes which is my choice.   enjoy!
