Daring Cardmakers - How Egg-citing challenge

You are going to get tired of me today with all these posts now that I'm back.
Here is my entry for Daring Cardmakers-friday challenge theme being How Egg-citing!
I have an egg and it's chocolate.  It's colored with my favorite medium ..... I know you all know what that is .... my Prisma color pencils.  Sorry don't know the stamp company because I did this over a friends house last week.

Created by Hand - My heart dances

Here is my entry for Created Byhand Challenge-tues. challenge with the theme My Heart Dances and this is how I feel today.  I can again post to my little blog and that makes me happy.
For this card I did what I call emboss coloring.

Arrrrg! I'm back!!!

Seems my problem was a simple one where I clicked something I wasn't supposed to and now that I read through help forum and found what my problem was and it was a simple fix.

Troubles in Blogger land

I'm having trouble posting anything right now. Can't seem to get pictures in either please bare with me as I have a reported this problem and hopefully it will be corrected soon. If anyone out there knows what the problem is or how to fix it I would appreciate any help. thanks, stamping sue

Thurday Tutorial - Ahoy Matey!

This is a fun technique using ordinary tissue paper, Ranger Paint Dabber and acetate. I know it has a special name but I have no idea what it is at this time so just why not just gather up the supplies and have fun with it.

Ahoy Matey!
Stamp credits:
Playful Posh Pirates EZMount stamp set #POSH-53 (SI)
Supplies:
Distress ink re-inkers – dusty concord, mustard seed
Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber Pearl
Diamond Glaze dimensional adhesive
Stickles Crystal Glitter
Acetate
White tissue paper
Instructions:

1.On a piece of acetate drop a few drops of dusty concord & mustard seed Distress reinkers leaving space between each drop of ink.

2.Add two dime size puddles of Diamond Glaze dimensional adhesive next to the inks.

3.Gently spread the inks and glaze with your finger. If you don't want your finger to get inky and sticky you can use a rubber glove. Do not over mix or the colors will become muddy.

4.While the inks and glaze are still wet sprinkle crystal glitter over the piece.

5.Cut a piece of white tissue larger than inked acetate. Crumble the tissue paper, flatten out leaving some of the wrinkles. The wrinkles add to the dimension of the piece.

6.Place the wrinkled tissue paper over the inked acetate. Allow to air dry completely.

7.After dry flip it over.

8.Ink up Pirate with Adirondack Acrylic Pearl paint dabber. Start by dabbing paint onto stamp then smooth out any big puddles of paint. Place the inked stamp carefully onto acetate and remove the stamp from the acetate. Stamping on acetate can be tricky because it is a slippery surface just remember not to move around the stamp or the image will be smudged & blurry. Try to have a firm grip on stamp and remove straight up off the acetate. Repeat process for saying.

9.Allow the painted images to air dry completely before continuing.

10. Layer stamped acetate onto piece of white (3 ¾ x 5) cardstock, black (4 x 5 ¼) cardstock then onto white folded card.

Thursday Tutorial - Reflections

REFLECTIONS

All stamps by Lasting Impressions with Panache

supplies:
double stick tape
Adirondack Eggplant ink pad
White photo corners – colored with eggplant ink
Instructions:
Base white card 4 ½ x 6 ¼.

1. On a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than base card stamp sailboat with Eggplant ink pad on top of card. Without cleaning the sailboat stamp mist it with water and stamp beneath the main image to create the reflection.

2. To create faux water between the stamped images rip a piece of paper in a wave like shape. Place the wave ripped paper between the stamped images. With a stipple brush stipple aqua and purple ink to create the look of water.

3. Sponge the same eggplant ink onto four photo corners then put them on the four corners of the stamped card. Tape the stamped card with colored photo corners onto the base white card to finish.

Thought I would show you a couple of cards where I didn't use Prisma color pencils.  Here I used the same image from The Stampsmith which I call The Gazer.  They are both stamped with black ink with a moon behind her.  enjoy!

Here is a Faerie wishing on a butterfly.  Doesn't she just look so content dreaming up at the butterfly.  Stamped image on tan cardstock and colored with Prisma color pencils.  Prisma is my favorite coloring medium.  enjoy!

Postcard Buddies Alphabets

My friends and I have started another round of our Postcard Buddies swap with the theme Alphabets.  I decided to pull out all my big bold Hot Potatoe stamps for this round of postcards.  Hope you enjoy seeing all these fun postcards.  A few of us decided to carry the theme one step further as for me I'm using big bold images to create simple but to the point postcards.  Leslie is doing definitions, Petti is doing flash card looking postcards because she is making a second set for her grandchildren, Roberta is doing animal themes and the rest of the group are stamping whatever they feel at the time.  Hope you enjoy our Alphabet Postcard Buddies.

A day out

On Tuesday we took a ride over the state line into Newport, RI.  It was a beautiful day to walk around the seaport and of course we had to have a cup of chowder for lunch.  Very nice way to spend a day.  enjoy!

Flower of the day

It's starting to look alot like SPRING TIME outside.  See all the crocus popping out in our yard.  White ones, purple and white with purple stripes. I'm so glad to see the flowers blooming that means ***winter*** is over!  The daffodil green stems are also sprouting out of the ground and will be blooming in a couple of weeks.  enjoy!

Another Block It

Here's another Block it type card.  This time with an Asian theme.

It's fun to create cards that look like they are sectioned off with LIWP diamond image. It's a fun technique and I get to use one of my favorite tools ..... stipple brushes.  enjoy!

Stampboard pins

Here are some fun pins I did a couple of years ago.  I stamped on stampboard with Staz-On jet black ink, spot colored with other inks using cosmetic sponges.  Stampboard is a good surface to stamp on, think I will get my stampboard pieces and start playing with it again.  enjoy!

Thursday Tutorial - Smoosh!

HOWLING WOLF
Stamps:
Howling Wolf #876-101K by Lasting Impressions with Panache

supplies:
double stick tape
clear embossing powder
heat tool
inks:
Colorbox pigment black ink pad
Brilliance reinkers – galaxy gold, pearlescent Ivy
VersaMagic reinkers – turquoise gem

Instructions:

1.On a piece of glossy cardstock squirt a couple drops each of the reinkers (gold, ivy & turquoise) onto the cardstock.

2. Smoosh a second piece of glossy cardstock onto the drops of reinkers to make a quick and fun background. Let the backgrounds dry completely before continuing.

3.Stamp howling wolf over the background with Colorbox pigment black ink pad, sprinkle clear embossing powder over image and heat with heat gun.

4.Layer stamped image onto black cardstock.

5.On gold base card tape a piece of scrap turquoise cardstock.

6.Tape the stamped image that has been layered onto black cardstock over the gold base card with turquoise cardstock.
 

***Lighthouse card***
Use second background which will be less ink but very calm look for the Lighthouse.

February Mystery ATC

The hostess sent out the cat image for us to create atc.  I coppied the image onto decorative papers to do paper piecing technique.  I think they came out fun.

Smoosh technique
