Chinese Dragon

August 15th is the next release of Sunday International's Best of Dee ATC stamp sets. I got an early release of one of the sets today!! This is the Chinese ATC EZMount stamp set. These images are sized for creating ATC's (artist trading cards) but as you can see they work great for cards, too.

Here is one card I created using the dragon from the new Chinese ATC set. There are a total of 22 images in this set!!!
For this card I made a background paper using Ranger Adirondack Alcohol inks. Basically I squeezed the ink onto the applicator tool then swiped the color on a piece of Kromekote cardstock. I stamped the fireworks with Ranger Adirondack wild plum dye ink pad randomly on the alcohol inked background paper. Stamped Dragon & firecrackers with same wild plum ink, cut them out and layered onto card.

June 2009 Mystery Owl atc

I belong to an atc yahoo group that do monthly mystery swaps. I hosted the mystery swap in June. This just means I send an image to all the participants and they create an atc for their appointed partner. It's a lot of fun. I sent out my big eyed owl and they created these atcs. They did a great job!

Necklace

Here is a simple necklace I made using Ranger Memory Glass & frames. Not affiliated with Ranger just like their products.

Awesome! Necklace
July 2009
by Sue Wisniewski
stamp credit:
Awesome – ATC mini words EZ Mount set (Sunday International)
supplies:
Ranger 2 x 2 Memory Glass & Memory frames
Ranger Alcohol Ink Applicator felt & tool
Black & silver cords
Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks – stream, eggplant & silver mixatives
Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Blending Solution
Instructions:
1. Place a piece of felt onto the applicator tool.
2. Squeeze a couple drops of stream, eggplant and silver mixative alcohol inks next to each on the felt. A couple of drops of the alcohol inks go a long way.
3. Dab the inked applicator tool all over the Memory Glass.
4. Squeeze a little alcohol blending solution onto the same inked felt on applicator tool and dab this on the colored Memory Glass. The blending solution softens the inks.
5. Stamp Awesome with Archival Jet Black ink onto the uninked side of the Memory Glass.
6. Allow the stamped Memory Glass piece to air dry or speed up the drying process with heat tool.
7. Cut 2” square piece of white cardstock and place it behind the inked side of the Memory Glass.
8. Open the Memory frame, insert stamped Memory Glass with white square, then close and lock in place by burnishing the tab with a paper creaser.
9. Thread black and silver cords through the loop on the top of the frame and tie it off to finish your necklace.

Fun with new stamps

I purchased stamps from a new company to me but have found out that they have been around for awhile. Yesterday I just played with some of thier stamps and created this card that will be sent to a friend very soon.
I started out by stamping the wall on black card with white ink. Stamped clock with same white ink then colored with color pencils and cut it out and popped it onto the card. The sofa was also stamped with white ink on black card then cut out and taped to card. The cushions were cut out of decorative paper. The chandelier was stamped on white cardstock, colored with color pencils, diamond glaze added to light bulbs, self sticking crystals to the hanging crystals. This was layered onto a light mustard note card. enjoy!
All images by Starving Artiststamps I have no association with them except I like their images.

Polish Stone fun

Been having fun doing an old technique but with new inks. Polish stone technique was created years ago by Suze Weinberg using Tria alcohol inks which were a little pricey. Next came out Studio alcohol inks which were affordable but didn't seem to last long. What I mean is the bottle was small and I used up the ink fast. Now there is Ranger Alcohol inks that are affordable and seem to last forever. Plus I really like the colors. Back when in order to get the metallic vein you had to use Krylon leafing pens now Ranger has come out with Metallic mixatives for alcohol inks which make it much easier.

Polish Stone technique basics: Squirt alcohol ink onto felt applicator. A little goes a long way. Pounce & twist the colors onto glossy or matte cardstock until you have filled the card with color. That's it.
The best thing with Ranger alcohol inks is they work on almost any surface. Cards using glossy cardstock, Ranger Memory Glass and much more.
